Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
Morning all,
My wife has a 40Gb 4G iPod and has expressed an interest in using it in the car.
Being that it's a company car we can't really be plumbing in any kind of leads etc, so I'm presuming an FM transmitter is the way forward here?
If so, do any of you have any suggestions/recommendations/experience of any specific models?
Thanks.

Re: Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
Unless it's got a tape player, yeah FM transmitter is the only way really. There are loads available and the trouble is that they all work differently in different cars so its hard to get a true idea of which is best (one person may slate a particular model, while its great for another person). My GF uses a Griffin iTrip Auto - works great in her Xsara but it completely unusable in my Honda. They are a bit of a pain, but when they work they are surprisingly good.

I agree with the above comments completely.
If anyone can make a CD equivalent of the tape to line in adapter work well, they'd be on for a few quid IMO!

Re: Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
I bought this one after extensive research and reading reviews on it. I am very impressed indeed. It works flawlessly in my car and gives a clear strong signal with excellent sound quality. Not the cheapest around but thoroughly recommended.

Re: Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
I have the Belkin one, which worked very well for a couple of weeks, until I lost my radio code installing a new car battery. I decided to replace the radio with an iPod friendly one, so my transmitter is, as they say, up for grabs, if you're interested?

Re: Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
I have a Monster i-CarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter, a friend took it back from the states for me about a year ago (before they were legal in the UK) and it's great.

I'm thinking of getting it for her as a pressie, so I'd be looking for a new one but thanks anyway.

Re: Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
GRIFFIN i-trip Auto. Recently purhcased and seems ok so far in my company Zafia.
Have had trouble trying to find a free FM frequency. Have found one so far but this depends on how far i travel untill i need to find another spare frequency. Trouble is, findng a new frequency is b**dy hard work. Also, clarity is not as good as radio or CD.
If only there was a Vauxhall Zafira, Vectra or Astra that had a stereo with MP3 docking/inlet

The audio quality from the Kensington transmitter is as good or if not better sounding that most radio stations in my opinion.

Re: Car FM Transmitter Recommendation Please
I have a Griffin iTrip Auto, and the sound quality is very good in both cars I have used it in. Be warned, however, that while using it in a Vauxhall Zafira hire car, it managed to damage my iPod. To avoid this, do not start the car with the iTrip connected to the iPod - start car, then plug in iTrip.
