Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Hi all I was thinking about getting a good set of in ear headphones for the glorious London commute and the new Sennheiser range caught my eye..

I've tried Shure E2c's but I've never been able to get a good fit that doesn't require me staying completely still. I have some Sennheiser CX 300s which have been great but now one ear bud has failed so figured time to upgrade....

There's a good review of the CX 95's here

Any thoughts appreciated , Cheers

I'd be interested in these too.
I've heard the CX95's are meant to be better than the CX500's, but that's all.

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Just took delivery of the CX 95's to replace my CX 300. The first thing I noticed when putting them on was how much confortable they are compared to the CX 300, you don't notice that your wearing them.

Pressed play on the ipod and WOW, the bass is amazing, smooth no distortion, you could hear every instrument playing and the vocals were sweet and they are loud. Great idea with the extention lead and both sides of the cable are the same length . The only gripe that I have is the case, you need a maths degree to figure out how to put the headphone inside (that's my only gripe).

Don't get me wrong, the CX 300 are great if you want a simple upgrade but, the CX 95's are just different class.

If you are prepared to spend £60 - £65 on these, then do so, they are worth every single penny.

Can't believe the bass!!!

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Hi,new to the forums, so treat me gently.

I've had a pair of the cx9s for around a month now and i got to say i love em.

IMO, they're well worth the cash.

and speaking of cash, i bought mine from a place called overclockers. They cost me a couple of quid over 50 quid. (a right bargain) i'm don't know the price of P&P because i picked up the phones from the shop. Which is nice.
i'll give a full review of the Cx95s when i have more time.

PS. I've just reread my post and it looks like it may come across as being an advert so i should confirm that I have no association with the shop other than buying the phones from them.

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Picked up some CX95's the other day so I thought i'd post my thoughts given there's little talk about them on here.

I upgraded from Some CX300's and there's a instantly noticeable difference between the two. The CX95's have a lot more clarity (particularly with regards to bass) and sound very natural. They are also far more comfortable and fit my ears very well. Hopefully that's not becauase I've got stupid ears!

My only annoyances so far is that I prefer phone's with one long and one short lead. That and the connectors on the lead extension is very chunky and adds unnecessary weight to the cable.

Splashed out and grabbed some Igrado's and Mylarone X3i's the same week. IMO these produce a much more complete sound that the X3i's - guess they should do at almost twice the price though.

I'd be interested to compare with some Shure's at some point. I used to have some E2C's but got rid as they were a pain in the arse to fit and the thick cable got on my tits.

The igrado's are lovely too btw, really comfortable and they sound fantastic (but leak sound like anything so aren't practical in most situations).

I got Richer sounds to price match overclockers:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...ones%20(500615)

Which they partly did as they said they don't normally pricematch accessories. Ended up paying £55.

with regards to fit, do they stay on properly? I have some j-Jays, and they need constant adjustment, every few minutes i have to push them in or pull them out a bit etc

I've not had any problems with the fit in the ear. Not fallen out yet anyway. As I mentioned above I'm not use to having IEM's where the leads are the same length (normally I have the lead behind my head). that's taken a bit of getting used too but that the only thing.

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Hi Guys

I got a pair of these on Sat. And even though they are still burning in (they need a lot of time....head-fi advice), they are gorgeous. Easily have a sound that holds its own with the £100+ iems. EASILY.

I have used top HP's. Senn 595, 600, 650's etc. Grados...so i know good sound when i hear it, and these have it in spades.

Great bass, but tight and firm. A silky mid range, and a suprisingly detailed high end. (senn not always the best for that). It seems Sennheiser really have pulled out all the stops on these, and i personally think these could go down as future Senn Classics.

I just cant wait to see how they improve over the next 100hrs or so, as they are only going to open up and get better.

So i recommend anyone looking to get some new iem's, try these first. For £60 (what i paid, and i cant believe thats all they are....), they are the bargain of our day. (Senn did it with the PX100's all those years ago, and they have done it again with the CX95's)

D.

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Just got a pair of these a few days ago and i was really impressed with them, sound quality was spot on for me:

Mids highs and lows were all very tasty but then my phones developed bass distortion and its driving me nuts, so much so that i cant even bear to wear them as it annoys me soo much.

Im hoping the online retailer will take them back but they were a pressie from my girlfriend and shes not picking up her bloody phone aaarrgghhh stress!!!!

The other reason i feel compelled to post is because these headphones seemed to have slipped under the radar, it seems to me like im the only person whoes had a problem with these headphones =/ and theres hardly anyone who can offer opinion as to how their purchases have been going so let me get the ball rolling.

Update:
Calmed down a bit now :D, i think its a one off as far as i can tell, nobody else seems to have had similar problems so please dont let it put you off buying these headphones as wen they were working they were fantastic little buds.
Im getting some replacements of the same model anyways =p.
I heard some guy saying that he should have got Shure e3's but i have n idea how much they cost =/

My CX95s arrived yesterday and I am very pleased with them. IMHO they have excellent sound quality for the price (I paid £45). They are light and comfortable too. I highly recommend them.

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

got mine

its either my ears are fkd or there isnt that much of a difference between the cx300s and the cx95s in terms of sound quality!

they are comfy to wear though.

so imo theyre not worth the £20 more than the cx300s

but that might be cos of my ears!

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

Anyone know if the CX95's will fit in a 1st gen iPhone? I've currently got some CX300's and I had to trim the connector a bit to fit, and also have some MM50 IP's which fit correctly. Like the look of the CX95's though and would like them without having to butcher them or get an adaptor.

they do fit, but only one earphone works (my right one) and the other only works if u press it in, once you stop pressing it into the port it stops working and the right only carries on.

i got one of them griffin smarttalk adapters, its got a button on it and a mic and i just put the cx95s around the back of my head so the button is near my chest.

you can pick up phone calls and change/pause tunes with it too!

regards

Where are people buying these £45 CX95s from? I'm looking to spend about £50 on a pair of earphones to prove to the missus that it does make a big difference compared to her using the ones that came with her phone

Ive just had an email back from the supplier of my CX95's who confirms that they were indeed faulty.
Could this be my fault?
Do i need to wear them in or anything? Im getting the next pair from overclockers.co.uk for £46 who at the time of writing still have 3 left so be quick people!!!

Re: Sennheiser CX55/CX95 any good feedback

ebuyer have discontinued the Sennheiser CX 95's and advancedmp3players do not have it on their website either! I am suprised about this as its such a well respected piece of kit and definately will sell with its unbelievable sound quality. I am looking to order a pair before xmas as a late gift for my brother but I have had no luck finding a pair that will delivery before xmas and are under £50.
Can anyone confirm a website that will meet my budget and deliver before xmas?
