Ellion 1000GB 1TB Hard Drive Media Player Recorder HDMI

hi thinking of getting one of these ellion 1 tb hdrive recorders, because i do alot of recording from tv etc anyone tell me if these ary any good ? or maybe get the emprex 320gig version pros and cons please ?

I bought one of these some months back, principally to backup stuff from my Sky+ box. Generally I found it cumbersome with a clunky interface and prone to hanging. When recording it crashed numerous times and installing different HDD made little difference. I discovered recently that recording to an 8Gb Usb pen drive was fairly reliable. But generally I found it unsatisfactory and have given it to my son to use as a media player.

I've decided to build a HTPC.

Note that Ellion recently issued new firmware with a revised interface but it was not sufficiently improved to persuade me to retain it and I don't know whether it improved the hanging/freezing issues I (and others) was having.
