Lg Dp271
Just purchased this lovely Portable DVD player from Argos using my Nectar points !! ..and tried the Only suggested hack for region free..
Turn on, open door, press 0,0,0 on remote then use the menu presented... press pause to complete..then power off..
No luck...and seems this is not going to be a region free machine
any ideas

Re: Lg Dp271
Pyrie,
Seems to work 100% fine for me. Assuming you get the on-screen region selection menu, enter '0' for the new region code and hit pause to 'exist'.
My player does now seem to 'exist' (as do I for some inexplicable reason). More importantly, my DP271 now plays discs from both regions 2 & 4...
Hope this helps...

Hi..cheers for the update
tried this a few times... maybe its timing... but I can't get the on-screen region menu..
can you go through same again..and write down steps (ie
turn on...
wait for LG to disappear
Press open
wait
then press 0,0,0,0 on the remote
etc
and I'll buy you a virtual beer!!!!!!
cheers
->>> Update - whats your "area code " set as... (from Setup, LOCK, area code) as mine reads GB... and I'm not sure if thats significant?

Re: Lg Dp271
One thing that you guys could do, which i know i will... is use software on the PC, such as DVD Catylist, to rip the Region X DVDs to XVids, then shove those on a memory stick, or portable drive.... which can be connected via the USB. Overall i am very pleased with the player.

Re: Lg Dp271
yeah... I bought a maxtor portable drive and put all my divx movies there... it works... but I still wanna get this thing to have multi-region cos it'd be nice to watch TV shows that are on region 1 only right now... anyways

Re: Lg Dp271
Hi, did this hack work for the Lg DP271? Can it now play any region dvds?
The only hack i've found online seems to work for the LG Dp271B. By the way, whats the difference between the both (LG DP271 and LG DP271B)???
Thanks!!

Re: Lg Dp271
Hi Guys
I found this web site, which worked for me (especially option 3) as I have the LG HT902TB system.
