Recently bought the SDV185 but am unable to play DVD's (DVD-RW) that were recorded on a Samsung DVD-R129 DVD recorder. I have tried the disk unfinalised and finalised with no success.

Does anyone know if I need to change any settings on either the Samsung DVD recorder or the Nextbase SDV185 to get this to work?

Some DVD players will only play +/-R not RW, and then again a lot of players only like +RW. I normally find the info on vcdhelp.com but your player is not listed.

I have checked the spec and on their website they say:

Compatible formats and media

DVD/ VCD/ SVCD/ MP3/ CD/ JPEG/ DivX/ CD-R/ CD-RW/ DVD± R/ DVD±RW

The Samsung (and disks used) are specified as DVD-RW so I was hoping it would work as it is the main reason for getting it in the first place
