Archos 604WiFi as a TV Media Player

Am in the process of setting up my home network and realise I need a media player to take files from my nas server and playback through tv/home cinema

Is it possible to use the Archos with the DVR docking station to do this function (I notice a lot of people on the site seem to use an XBox 360 for this) as this would save me buying another new piece of kit
