Andrew, I just received my Archos yesterday when I got home from work and spent some time trying to connect it to my TV, with no luck. We are going to try again at the weekend.
I also couldn't add music via WMP, so gave up as WMP just kept freezing.
Tonight, we tried connecting to another PC and it worked just fine, so have changed my PC to USB2 and wow....everything now works just great!
Music and photos, no problem. I am now about to try downloading a video to my Archos. Wish me luck!

My Archos is doing great!
I can now record from the TV etc, so I am storing up some stuff to watch for when I go on holiday as the plane journey is 4 hours.
I am well pleased

ufitsy...I have just ordered a headphone splitter and some earbuds from the site you mentioned. Probably won't get here in time for my holiday as it says 7-10 days, but will still be handy to have.
