Not sure if I should be asking this question here or in the DVD Recorders forum...

I want a DVD Recorder with a hard drive, nothing fancy as I won't use it much, but ideally I want something I can use both in the bedroom and in the living room. It seems pointless buying two of them if I don't have to, but I don't want large numbers of wires to disconnect and reconnect each time I want to move it - although a few is fine. Is that what this forum is for, or is it more to discuss portables in the sense of those that you can actually WATCH / LISTEN TO whilst on the move? I don't need to do that, as I have a TV in the bedroom and in the living room obviously...

I don't think there are any portable DVD/HDD units available, you could just get a regular one and move it between the two rooms but I think you would quickly get fed up of the system re-initialsing itself every time the power was connected and disconnected.

Why not get a DVD/HDD recorder for the main set and a cheap DVD player for the bedroom.
