sumvision cyclone micro 3 external hard drive issue

i have a cyclone micro3 media player connected to a buffalo 500gig hard drive but the media player is not recognizing the hard drive and so will not play movies through it
has anyone any solutions please?

Me too. Seems lots are having the problem and no solution.

Could it be anything to do with the way Buffalo have formatted/partitioned the drive.

Buffalo has a habit of throwing odd software and partitions on their USB storage units. The first thing I usually do with them is reformat them to FAT32 (standard block size) and make sure there are no hidden partitions (through Windows Disk Management).

Have you tried a repartition/reformat?
