Sumvision Cyclone Primus doesn't recognise my drive

Hi,

I installed a 1.8tb WD Caviar Green into the Sumvision Cyclone Primus caddy, connected to my PC via USB, formatted the drive (tried both FAT32 and NTFS), copied all my films on, but when plugged into the tv the caddy doesn't recognise my drive.

Is this a compatibility issue or a problem with the caddy?

I have even updated the firmware, but still it doesn't recognise the drive

Please help!

Happened to me as well

After about 13 months it didn't recognise any SATA drive I put in there
9 months later and it won't recognise any movies. Pics, yes. Movies, no

UPDATE:
Put new firmware on and it plays movies again. Phew!
Thought I was going to have to get the heat gun on the circuit board then

Sounds like they're a little unreliable pffft! I recently connected an SSD, the HDD menu option lit up then disappeared. The only luck i've had is using a memory stick in the USB port, which is at least something. Oh well, most new tv's have USB ports on them now and can play DivX so i guess that's my best option = a new tv!!

Yup,, well i'm gonna keep mine until i finally get a new tv lol oh well,, was only £40 but at least it kind of works for now I've got an external drive but it needs yet another power supply, which was why i bought the caddy. However if i get a new tv with USB port it will need an external drive anyway,, so all is not lost. Will heat gun my caddy too when the time comes :D
