I'm looking for a heard disk movie player that might work in France, Switzerland and hopefully the UK. I'm not sure what the video in on the tv's here are but I assume they're not PAL. I also move about a lot so it would be nice if it wasn't to big. My DVDs are encoded as avi files so it must play this format. Any suggestions?

PS1 It would also be nice if it had a separate audio out so I could plug it into a stereo and listen to music etc but I guess I'd need an LCD screen to be able to pick the tunes etc.

I have a couple of solutions that I use.
Nintendo Wii running HBC with external hard drive.
ASRock Nettop using internal disk or hard drive.
Both have outputs red/white/yellow that can plug into a cheap scart adapter.
I have taken mine from UK to France and Switzerland.
The type of TV is not relevant (PAL refers to TV signal) as you just need a TV that can take SCART (or r/w/y) input.
