Potable DVD advice please.

Hi all. New member and looking for suggestions. I have had a Shinco 7" DVD player for almost 5 years and many happy hours. It is now not playing and I get the 'no disc' screen message. The laser blinks twice before the message appears.

It been a great unit, owes me nothing but before I give up on it, any suggestions? I don't want to spend much as the money can go to a new model.

Thanks

If you can afford it, the costlier options from Sony or Toshiba are better built and more pleasant to interact with, but if you're strapped for cash and just want simple but noisy DVD playback, then you might want to settle for the Shinco. but I would suggest Sony or Toshiba try it

Thanks for the replies but was hoping for some suggestions on fixing my old unit.
If it is anything but a simple fix, I will switch to a notebook. Just not worth spending much on a repair I'm afraid.
