Does anyone have knowledge/experience of changing the HDD in this player? Physically it seems straightforward enough, but will it recognise the new drive immediately, or are there formatting etc issues? I'm looking to increase the capacity, so if you have any recommendations as to make/model this would be helpful.

It does seem that there has been some success in replacing the disk in this model :

No idea if the success applies to all firmware versions as Archos have expended considerable effort on other models to make changing th disk impossible, but you may well be lucky in this case.
