hi i have a archos 605 wifi 80gb and i use it just for movies really i charge it until batteries full which usually takes at least 4 hours and after one standard hour & a half movie the baterry is rioght down and im sure it cudnt see thru another movie without going...so im wondering the battery dock you can buy for them does it increase the battery life alot longer? if so does anyone no how much by roughly?

First off, ignore the battery meter it is very inaccurate.

Try and play a second movie and see how far you get, you may be surprised.

How are you encoding these movies?

I ask as that can also affect the battery life as replaying a high bit-rate vob file for example does take more processing power than replaying an AVI file as an example.

there standard avi xvids mate. so even when the battery is on one bar (which it is after an around 2 hour movie) i should just carry on?

Yes, that last bar can last a very long time.

Also if you always recharge without ever letting the Archos run until it shuts down the meter will remain inaccurate as it never gets a chance to recalibrate.
