Archos 705 - Trying to stream media from home PC

Hi. Wondering if someone can help me. I have just got a 705 and all is working well. It connects to wifi and I can browse the web no problem. I am now trying to stream media from my PC without success. I have Windows Media Player 11 installed on a PC running XP and I have enabled sharing with the Archos as described in the manual. When I click on the either Video or Music from the main menu and then "Network 'UPnP'" it connects to the wifi no problem (and it shows up as connected on the router) but the Archos simply states the folder is empty. Needless to say my PC is full of Media. I have tried this with Windows Media Player both on and off. Am I missing something obvious. I really want to fix this since this was one of my main reasons for getting the Archos in the first place!!

Personally I don't bother connecting through media player, I simple go to the file menu on the 705 click on network and once it is connected go to the drive/folder on my PC with the files I want to play and play from their.

Thank you SOOOO much. Two reasons for that. 1) When reading your mail it made me realise I need to put the files into the right place and indeed when I moved some files to my shared folders thta worked a treat. 2) Thank you for liberating me from Windows MP 11. I hate that application and am relieved to not to use it. Out of interest, is there any benefit in using it vs. your method? I can't think of one?

I never use WMP (play all my stuff through VLC player) so I have no real idea if there is any advantage. You can use WMP to sync both devices together but as I have a very large amount of picture, music and videos it wouldn't be of any use to me. I have heard if you transfer video to the Archos through WMP11 that it will convert it to a form that is playable on the Archos if it is not already but I haven't tried it.
