I just wish older 'General Chat' threads were still around.

There was a priceless one many years ago stating that the UK should enter the euro because the author had, to paraphrase, "written a dissertation concluding that we should join, and received good marks from his tutor."

One assumes (s)he(?) now works in the european parliament.
