Try deleting the partially downloaded file and forcing a refresh.
I have deleted the notes re it being the wrong podcast. That was fixed much earlier this morning, thanks.

Done that, but IE7 only downloads a 5.56MB file. Have switched to Opera however and been able to download the complete podcast.

Re: AVForums Home Cinema Podcast : 7th January 2008

While these podcast (the series of four) have veen really informative and interesting, if a little techie, the Pioneer section was a disgrace.

So this new amp is $7000USD, but will be £4500+ in the UK?

Also there Product Manager is a bit of a prat really, 'We are not the cheapest, we only sell THE BEST'...... ' oh yeah well we will just re brand a Sharp LCD, they are pretty good' (despite reviews saying mostly the opposite!)

Thankfully we have Phil H to ask some really tough, hard hitting question to call him up on his BS- oh wait thats not what happened at all.

Also, what is with this mid 80s 'women make 50% of the decisions'? Not only is it about 20 years late, it was repeated word for word on every section!

Maybe I am expecting to much, i know these people dont have to talk to you and you want to seem polite but some companies, especially Pioneer, get a total free ride.

Thanks for your comments.
Let's get one thing clear right from the start, it's not a newsnight interview program or some kind of childish reporting website like the one where the reporters went around the show switching peoples TVs off. Our podcasts are targetted at people who want to know what the Manufacturers are showing at the show and 'Their' thoughts on the products. If they are giving us (in your words) BS, then most people will gloss over this and take it for what its worth at the same time as getting the information they want. The AV Industry is a business so you are going to get the marketing slant.

The Susano amp will be £4500, its a monster of an amp and will be up against Denon's £10,000 combo of processor and amp as well as Yamaha's DSP-Z11 at £5,000.

Calling the Product manager a prat is a little strong and is certainly not going to win you friends. Maybe this is your idea for how I handle the podcasts? Go calling people names because they believe their products are the best? They do arguably produce some of the best products on the market, especially the G8 panels, so I think he has a right to be happy with that. (not just me, read any review of their Kuro screens). After all the purpose of the podcast is a platform for the interviewee to tell us their angle, we will disect that in future podcasts and the listener gets the information from the horses mouth (no I'm not calling him a horse either).

The women remark was a major marketing angle for this years show and the majority of Manufacturers were pushing that aspect, so a valid question that was asked.

I am really grateful to Pioneer and every other company who took the time out from a very busy show to talk with us and I feel the travelling nightmare getting there was worth it. We got some real exclusives which some of the other press missed out on and are not reporting. You take or leave what you need from what the interviewees tell us, if you think it's BS then ignore it. We won't be taking an argumentative or agressive stance with people, if there is an obvious question that needs asked then it will be, but just because we get the marketing angle mixed with useful information, we won't be ripping peoples heads off or calling them prats, that just wouldn't be very professional now would it?

This is the second time you have raised issues like this so maybe the podcast is just not for you. Like I say there are some sites who went out to cause nothing but trouble for exhibitors at the show, maybe that's more your level?
