Seth's mumbling again. Can't you have his words spoken by an actor?

I know what you mean ! Is it possible to normalize the volume of the Podcasts ? I turn the volume up for the discussion parts then get deafened when the studio recorded parts kick in.

I believe his part is recorded over VOIP and Phil likely has the latest Sennheiser kit ;-)

Re: AV Podcast : Home Cinema : 22nd Feb 2007

Most of us are recorded over VOIP, however, the last 2 weeks there's been major problems my end being quieter than everyone else, even though the mic recording level is "maxed" out.

If I add the Mic Boost, it makes things worse (IMO), so am desperately trying to work out how my level is so quiet when the mic recording level is set to maximum.

While I'm buying parts to rebuild my PC (no technical reason, just fancy a change), I'm wondering if using a soundcard over the onboard would help (but that's a problem for me to fix - maybe Creative want to send me a card to assess! )

You're under the impression there's a script!!! Either than or a neuro-link between my brain and said actor's is available (only in Star Trek, I believe).

lol! if podcasts were scripted they wouldn't be podcasts. I like the informal chit chat and banter. I also think Seth is pretty funny too. so leave him alone. But yes he does need his levels sorted. Why don't you dual record - VOIP + A good mic. Then send mp3 to Phil and he can spend the next few hrs splicing together your bits in better quality! come to think of it he can do the same for everyone!

To be serious though - the overall sound quality of the AV podcasts are one hell of a lot better than most others out there.

I can live with it!
