Having serious trouble downloading this podcast, constantly getting cut off, sometimes at 1-2 meg, sometimes at 20meg.

I'm guessing the server is overloaded.

Seth said that the HD-DVD release of The Departed was going to be a Combo disc which was "a shame". Why?

I have the combo disc of Brokeback Mountain which is HD-30 and DVD-9 on the two respective sides. I thought that these were the maximum capacities that each format allows. Therefore, capacity-wise there is no downside to a movie being released as a combo on HD-DVD. So why is it a "shame"?

Seth can maybe answer when he has a minute, but I assumed he said so because A) most people don't like flippers and b) combos are more expensive than just a single HD disc generally.

As per what Phil said. Consider that most flippers are around £5-£8 (depending where you buy them from) and that you could buy 4 regular HD's for the price of 3 flippers, it's not cost effective for people who only want the HD versions. In fact, in a perfect world, both would be available for people who haven't got HD but are considering the jump and the HD only version for people who are already there.
