Re: AV Podcast : Hardware : Nov 11th 2006

Very interesting.

One small comment is that the round table discussion was a too niche a subject.

These discussions are of a lot wider interest if the topics are more general - and debates. Like: Who will win the HD war? Is 1080p really necessary? etc. The debate on a DVD player owned by the review panel was of zero interest to all those who don't have one !!!

I am sure you guys can produce interesting debates rather than personal opinions which all agree!

Hi Mark,
The roundtable in this podcast was about the new Denon player which was reviewed by all our reviewers, hence it was rather specific to the 1730 player and was a review using 4 people rather than a general chat like other round tables. Thanks for your comments.

I liked the review of the Denon 1730, sounds like a real nice piece of kit for the money.

Listened to the round table on the way to work this morning and loved it. Nice to hear knowledgable voices disagree with the 1730 review What Hi-Fi S&V dished out...

Thanks. Just one question to the round table review team of the 1730.

On your displays (name them if you want/can), can you explain the differences between 576p/i via component and 576i/p/720p/1080i via HDMI. Like which one would you use instead etc.
