Unforturenetly you’ve missed the boat on that price. Le concepts last Saturday had 42v10 on their web site for £1299 and 50v10 for £1499 with 3 years warranty. Come Monday afternoon, they had gone up to £1399 for the 42v10 and £1599 for the 50v10 I called them up to confirm that my price when I ordered on Saturdays would stand. They confirm it would, and I'm just waiting for them to have stock come in.

From reading other threads it seems the calibration should be done after 200 hours of use. Will the v10’s out of box THX picture get better or worse over time?

The THX preset can be adjusted for brightness/contrast/sharpness.
Over time the pixels get dimmer, but you can compensate for this with the contrast etc. The THX preset ensures the colour balance and greyscale is correct.

If you've got one of the new onkyo receivers (SR876 / NR906) would it not be possible to calibrate the picture of the G10 through this to the same level as the V10 ?

Yep, David Mackenzie said,

"The V10 is definitely worth the price increase, thanks to the THX mode.
It's not possible to bring the G10 (and I assume, the G15) to the same level of quality because of Panasonic's usual problem - lack of control. Most notably, it also has the less striking image thanks to lack of Gamma control (at least in some modes), and there is no Colour Management System or THX mode, so colours are less realistic and accurate."

I too am very interested in these latest Panny TV's but I have a techy question regarding picture settings/controls. That is I will be using my first HDTV with a HTPC which I have been using for a year or two now and will very unlikely be using any STB with it of any kind - not even a blu-ray player as I just aquired a blu-ray drive for my HTPC. Anyway wouldn't all possible picture settings be available on my PC through my GPU software and the video player software of choice! Am I way off the mark here or not? If I'm not what would the best settings to leave the TV at (where I wouldn't be adjusting them again). So does anyone have experience of such a setup and how do you find it? Perhaps there are generally more adjustment controls on TV's than on a PC? I think I would go for the G10 if I knew I could finely tune the picture to my taste with PC software.
