Panny Plasma - Currys Whatever Happens Extended Cover

Hi there,

I didnt know what section to put this so if its in the wrong section could a mod/admin please move it?

I am claiming on my Currys Whatever Happens extended cover for a faulty set.

However i have no recolection of the serial number for my TV without lugging the heavy lump off the wall to check (pain in the arris becasue of speaker setup/cables etc that al run behind the TV, too big a job just to check a poxy sticker, 30kg tv with a bad back is not a good mix)

Has anyone dealt with CWH cover before in a claim? Do they need the serial number as as far as i can remember when i brought the set 18 months ago the cover is linked only to the TV model.

Or do they already have the serial number on record and i dont need to worry?

Have tried calling them but spent 30 mins on hold to speak to an advisor and dont want to be doing this again if i do need the serial.

Thankyou

Hey,

Used to work for Currys, so i know a bit.

They don't take any serial numbers when you take out the cover. So they don't need it.

But i'm afraid you'll have to either keep ringing that number till you get through, when you do they should send out an engineer within 2 working days. Then they'll collect or repair it on the spot. Within 21 days (guaranteed) you'll get it back or a gift card with the money on it to buy a new set.

Or pop into your nearest store and let them do the hard work :P

Hoped that helped a bit.

I stilll work for Currys and they will definately want that serial number. If you get the serial, take the details into your local store and make them phone up. Saves your phone bill and saves you hassle.

Re: Panny Plasma - Currys Whatever Happens Extended Cover

they never needed my seriel number when they came for my old toshy CRT, but it did take about a week for em to come and get it, said they would ring in 2 weeks, i rang them after 28 days and they had lost the tele.

after complaining a lot, and shoving the recipt of collection under the dipstick at wednesbury depot, then 2 weeks after that a phone call to say they had found it!! "is it repairable?" i asked, "dunno" they replied.

this is where i got nasty.

21 days and im supposed to get the cash for a new set!!! its been nearly 2 months and im still watching a 19" tele!

smack on 2 months after the original TV was taken away, i finally got my gift card, with only £650 on it. after i had paid £900 4 years previous, i will never get this whatever happens crap again, if my TV breaks now, ill kick it off the stand and claim on house insurance.
