My KRP-600M, which was delivered by Pioneer Nordic here in Norway, came without a power cord too. I thought this was just a packaging fault, but obviously the professional monitors are shipped without a power cord as part of the standard accessories.

Best regards,
Ole Willy Tuv

With the panel being so thin it doesn't feel all that stable on the stand, may have to wallmount it at some point...
Hi Guys

Sorry bout this, but its a pain in the ass I know, I've reported this as its about the 3rd we have had. Even had one A with no display port cable!

Should be in the bottom polystyrene under some cardboard that is taped into place.

Any IEC mains lead, type used on pc power supplies will do.

Will call you tomorrow.

I have already installed this bracket on a specially built stud wall in my livingroom in preparation for the LX5090, but if the bracket will fit then I might be tempted to go for the KRP-500M instead.

I know the new KRP-WM01 bracket will mount the screen closer to the wall, but I'm not really worried about this for my installation, and a bit of extra ventilation around the back of the screen can't hurt.

Thanks
James

As a few owners are starting to take delivery of the KRP-500M, I would be most grateful if someone could measure the horizontal and vertical distances between the mounting holes on the back of the sets.

I've had a look at the manual for both the screen and the super slim bracket, but neither document provides the distances between the mounting holes.

Thanks
James

As I have already stated, the display should be set to a much lower brightness when viewing in darkened conditions, similar to what you get with a projector, which is in the region of 14–30fL (≈50–100cd/m²) though I prefer something in the middle to lower-end of that range.

The very darkest part of a picture, that should be the point where the pixels are just lit, otherwise you loose shadow detail.
In that case, why are manufacturers trying as hard as they can to get to zero luminance? Why did Pioneer make such a big fuss about achieving it in January? Why do many HT enthusiasts still prefer CRT projectors over digital?

Black should be black, in my opinion. Shadow detail is information above black, and certainly you don't want that crushed, but that shouldn't require an elevated black level.

Real life numbers

Human eye at night 1,200:1
Human eye in daylight 800:1
Film 120:1
Video camera 40:1
20,000:1 is bull? HDTVtest have measured the LX5090's black level to be 0.0031cd/m². With a peak white of ≈100cd/m², that works out at almost 33,000:1 on/off CR. (there are, of course, other methods of measuring contrast that would result in different numbers)

Those contrast ratios you have posted for the human eye are for simultaneous contrast. That is, you can see around 1200:1 (though many sources have different numbers) in a single scene without your eye adjusting. Your eye is constantly adjusting, however, and the human visual system has a dynamic range of over 1,000,000:1.

Even a display with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio still does not have enough dynamic range to accurately reproduce some scenes.

You set it up as follows:

Sender address: Your e-mail address
Mail server: IP address to your provider's mail server
Authentication: On
ID: The username you're using when connecting to the mail server
Password: The password you're using when connecting to the mail server
Receiver address (1): Your e-mail address

You need to push the "Set" button to save the changes. Then push "TEST MAIL" and check your inbox.

Regards,
Ole

Hi mate.
The M will remember settings on a resolution/refresh rate basis. So it will store unique settings for say 1080p24, 1080i/50, 1080p50, 1080p60, 576p@50, etc. (up to a max of eight); but if you are say sending 1080p50 from two sources into the same input, there will only be one setting for 1080p/50. (using Pure mode picture preset)
The second HDMI is independant for settings.
What's Sky going into the screen as.....1080i?
All the best.

I am not saying that it does not pick it up, just that I could not find it amongst 1075 scanned channels!

It is MUCH easier to tune it manually, unless you want to search through pots of, mostly encrypted, channels.

Guys...!! If you still have still have the original box and packing of the screen ...CHECK CAREFULLY again! I thought exactly the same that there was no power cable but it is there! It is not in the carton box with all other accessories. Interstingly enough, Pioneer has decided to "hide" it and tape it in the white protective material in one of the bottom corners in the box !!!

As I have just said... it is most likely there... but it is not obvious at all. My friend missed it and thought they did not include... and I nearly did the same. As I just said... worth checking again for everyone who thinks it is missing... Hopefully they do not throw away the packing / box.

cheers, andy
The ferrite cores fit on the mains leads, close to the screen/media box; they are to help prevent the TV picking up noise from the mains and/or sending noise onto the mains. I suspect that they are to make it pass the CE EMC directives.

Do fit the ferrite cores but don't waste your money on 'upmarket' mains leads, they will not make any difference whatsoever to anything (except your wallet).

Your right just found it hidden away at the bottom of the box.
