Re: Get your plasmas out for the lads - Pt II

Long time since I posted in this thread but have just ripped the fire place out and bought a new Sony 52", so thought I would show it off. Built the cabinets myself out of oak veneered mdf and curved the wall corners in the room, then re-plastered.Still have the floor to sort under that horrible rug. (There is a big hole where the fire grate was) and all this cause I didn't have anywhere to put the centre speaker, ha, ha must be mad! Sorry crap pics but only have my mobile camera and thats 3 years old, not into this photography thing, lol. Hope you like as im well pleased how it came out.

Thats neat, well done.

Yours is in a similar position to mine. I couldn't make my own cabinets so made false walls in the alcoves to make it all flush and fed the cables through the false wall, quite easy really. I'm pleased with the built-in 'ornament holes' (well what else do you call them??). Did have a problem with the LEDs failing and had to replace them which was a nuisance as I hadn't left any access points to the transformer which is behind the wall.

How do you find the 52' in your room? It doesn't look too big from the pics but I'm assuming your room size is about 12x12

Re: Get your plasmas out for the lads - Pt II

Hi 'Advisor',
Thanks for your comments (sorry to have posted in the 'Plasma' section, always had sony plasma's and forgot they are all lcd's now, oops!) I was toying with the idea of plaster boarding the alcoves but decided I needed the storage space, so cabinets it was. Find the 52" perfect size, last one was 42" but I sit 20ft away from the screen as its 2 rooms knocked into one, so could go bigger but then im into projector realms. Maybe one day eh......

seriously try not to ever lift a screen up yer self, now matter how simple the job maybe you stand a good chance of destroying it
