Lg 50pg7000

Hi all

I am looking to buy the above. This TV has a great write up except for 'black levels'....not sure what that means. The general write-up gave a 90/100 marks so can't be that bad.

How do the black levels compare to the last generation Kuro models? The LX508D used costs about the same as the 50PG7000 brand new. Do I go with the Pioneer or has the competition caught up?

Everything else about the PG7000 shouts 'buy me'. I especially like the wealth picture controls to support calibration (I've ruled out Panasonic due to the absence of such controls).

Regards,

Lee

Yeah - I am still struggling on decision on this one, but am being helped by a £899 price tag in WhatHiFi mag. That said, its still no good to spend 900 on something that is going to be an irritation each and every day cause you know that its not quite right. The killer has been seeing it in Currys next to other similar screens - it really did look really grey, it was a significant noticable difference .... boooooo. So whatever you do, check em out in the flesh first ....

Hi,

Why not wait and see what the new LG Plasmas are like which are out soon? PS6000 & PS8000? Better to get the latest model you can if you are able!

Suave!

Re: LG's PG7000 plasma claims infinite contrast

Is there a definite release date and any idea of prices? They look cool, but the price differential when measured against the £899 price tag of an older model means that it probably will shoot these bad boys out of the water for me.
