LG Plasma Screen Issue ???

Hi,

This is my first post in this forum, I've been given a LG Plasma,

model.: RT-42PZ60

It has a black strip that runs down the screen, from top to about half way down, its about an inch wide. If it was permenatly there i would think its not worth looking into, but it comes and goes ?
I have a picture of the issue if that would help.
Has anyone ever seen this before ?

Cheerz,
RazE10.

Re: LG Plasma Screen Issue ???

I use to see this everyday on LG screens when working in AV, i consider it an LG thing and thats why i would never buy an LG screen.

We would send them back to LG for repair which usually took them months then 6 months later they would fail again. We replaced nearly every LG screen we installed after about a year and they all seemed to fail with a 3-6 month period of each other.

Re: LG Plasma Screen Issue ???

So to get it fixed I'd have to send it to LG ?
or...
Is there something I can do to fix it ?

Re: LG Plasma Screen Issue ???

other companies will do it (we have one being repaired by a birmingham company at present via john lewis warranty, hopefully they just write it off)

and we had a quote for another one (same model as the other one being repaired) by a local company which they though said would be around £250.

in my oppinion not cost effective, and thats on my model which is quite a bit newer than the one your running.
