After having two 51" plasmas delivered with a cracked screen im begining to look at a 60" I also think its a sign to not get a 51"

I sit approx 10ft away from the screen and have it hanging on my chimney breast. If funds allowed which would you get as the extra 9" is another 500 quid.

Thats what I was thinking. Ill have to get the tape measure out to make sure the screen wont look stupid in my living room. It wont go past the edges of the chimney but it may only have a few cm's each side, wont look stupid do you think?

1st pic was taken from where I would be sitting. Theres two coasters on the mantle which shows you how wide a 60" would be.

2nd pic just shows you a little closer.

Please mind the mess im currently decorating

Try keep the center as low as you can, can you fix it on the front of the wood or under it,(it will give you better sound) remember the center is the most important speaker.
and 60" will be fine i sit about 10foot from my 59" and i wish i had gone 64" now.

May be on the brink of dominating the room, if the Mrs is happy though I'd go for it....mind you, my Mrs wasn't happy having a 51" in a 3.5m x 3.8m room and I still went for it lol, then she gets what she wants so its only fair.

Looks good, I'd not go bigger for the room though, also now sitting way too close after a move around.

My mates 42" sets look tiny now though they have bigger rooms. I went 42" to 46" to now 51", If honest for mixed viewing the 46" was bang on for the room with my eyes about 8ft away. For gaming though, bigger the better lol gaming and HD is great on a big set, 3D is better too. Sitting with my eyes about 6ft from my screen and if I get any closer I can see the dithering. Im selling my house so had a move around to improve the look, can't wait to have.a proper setup again, had to packing my 5.1 setup too.

Taken from where I sit.

You might want to look at back lighting too.

Thanks for that Scooby, looks like a really nice set

Yours doesnt look to big for me so hopefully I should be ok with a 60". Plus with it being on the wall it should look less dominating.

I'll post a pic of my 40"...
