Thats fine if you use internet on youre cell phone, but my whole house is internet cabled, because too many wifi systems around, so I cant use wifi.
And I am not about to pay extra for internet on my fone if i have 3 computers in the house which are hooked up to internet.
So you see an app doesnt help everybody, where a USB keyboard would.

3D Glasses options

Finally got my set on the wall having had it running a combo of slides and repeated DVD. God that bugged the life out of me having a brand new set upstairs for over a week!

So now its downstairs at last and looks stunning on the wall. Got the 51 but thinking I could have got a bigger one

Now the problem comes with having 2 young children in the house along with 2 teenagers. Somebody is going to break the glasses so I figure the best thing is to buy a set for each.
I obviously have the 2 that came with the set but need at least 2 others (not having to be that great) then another couple for me and the other half (ideally these can be good ones)
Can anybody recommend any?
I'm looking at the 3300CR/XC's for the adults. but not sure about the kids sets. Plenty of places seem to be doing dual packs for about £30?

Thanks in advance

How do you move from one chapter to the next on recorded films or TV? I can fast forward from 1 to 7, but how do you move from one chapter (or segment of a film) to another like you can on DVD players?

Also, is there anyway to search recorded TV using keywords (search terms) for when you build a large library and you want to find something very quickly?

How big is your living room? The 64" may be a little too big for average sized living rooms. My 55" seems a bit bigger than I would like when the TV is off. The bigger the screen the more enjoyable I find when you are actually watching, but when the TV is off, the room's aesthetics can be slightly reduced if too big. I think the 55" is just about OK for my living room, but any bigger and it won't look good. Its the same with speakers. I recently replaced my floorstanders with Apex A40s because I was always conscious of the size of the floorstanders and felt they reduced the aesthetics of the room. But like I say, when you are actually watching, I think it is often the case that the bigger the better. I have a 94" projector screen in one of our rooms and watching a movie on that is is significantly more enjoyable than watching it on the 55" TV simply because of the bigger size.

No signal through AV amp after switching on?

Hi folks

Hoping somebody can help me here with a little issue. I have a 51 with a very simple setup of HDMI 1 running into a Denon AVR 1910. from the denon I have my Sky, Dune, DVD, PS3 etc
Everything works fine through the day with devices switching on and off via the TV but fails to switch on correctly in the morning?

First thing in the morning the routine is generally switch on the Sky box from sleep then switch on the TV via the remote. This is where th problem starts with the TV reporting No signal
To resolve the Denon needs to be switched on and off again once the Sky signal is visible. After this all is well

This was not an issue previously with my old TV which was a 5yr 37 LG LCD

Firmware 001021

Only alternative that I can see at the moment is to run Sky directly into another HDMI but would rather retain the ability to run audio through the Denon

Thanks in advance

I had similar problems with HDMI1 with the signal either breaking up or going 'no signal' from my BD player going through my Sony DA2400ES, going to a different HDMI port, or plugging directly into HDMI1 bypassing the AVR solved it. I moved it to HDMI4 and all was fine, I now have it on HDMI2 as I recently changed my AVR to a Yamaha 671 and wanted to use ARC, no further problems so far but then again I haven't tried HDMI1 since.

I can only guess that HDMI1 must be slightly different to the others due to being linked to the DVI input so may be not quite as 'compatible' as the other HDMI ports, or it's a faulty board

Had issues with hdmi port 1 in my first set. Quickly reported it and they replaced my tv.

Would it not be better to run the Skybox HDMi direct to TV and use Optical from Skybox to your Amp ?, I believe Skyboxes can only output DD Audio via Optical but i could be wrong

Has anyone had any problems with the PS64D8000 causing electrical interference with their phone line? Just got infinity installed a month back and had nothing but problems with download speeds of a mere 5Mb after initially syncing at 20Mb. Had my 2nd engineer visit this afternoon and noticed that I have loads of errors on my line which are all caused when my TV is switched on. As soon as its on standby, the errors virtually disappear!

At this rate I may well end up doing that. Tried changing to HDMI 2, 3 & 4 and no difference. Tried changing HDMI to a different port on the AVR but no difference again
Only other thing to try is change the HDMI control in the TV to off before going for the direct connection route

Just find it odd that my old LG managed it yet the new Samsung can't handle it at all

Think I have cracked it. Turned off Anynet+ and now I can have the AVR on standby, switch on TV and get Sky signal coming through

Cheers. The joy of new technology! Change one setting, forget and then spend days trying to work out why something else broke. rewind brain and remember what you tinkered with days before

Could you lads please open the youtube app and search "3d", the first one is the kid with the dollar bill and its in side by side format and plays but doesn't switch to 3d mode and when you hit the 3d button on the remote it doesn't work either
In fact none of the clips work in 3d mode is this a fault or do you all have the same issue?
The explore3d app works fine though

Separate question, I assume there is no aspect ratio control while in 3d mode?

ITV Player has now popped up this weekend.
It didn't require a FW update to 1024 and is all installed nicely on the SMARTHUB (not that I've tried it as yet).

EDIT:
Ok, so I got round to trying the ITV Player app... and it won't run - it's asking for the latest firmware. So I upgraded via USB but the app is still asking for the FW to be upgraded.
Good start ITV Player.

Just tried the YouTube app again for you.
The 3D worked fine
The 1st search result (dollar bill/knife... says works on EVO3D) doesn't appear to be side by side (in fact none of his seem to be) as shown in the thumbnail preview... 3D kicks straight in without the need to press the '3D' button on the remote.
Then tried another search result (The 'city' Sony one that shows as a SBS thumbnail) and again the 3D kicks straight in.
Did you try out any of the other results? Or have you tried any half SBS content via network/HDD?

It will only work on later FW versions
