Hi, I've 40D8000 with FW 1023 (downloaded when released), I saw the news on ITV Player being released but it does not appear in Smart Hub or as an option to download in the Apps. I check for FW update and none available.

Anybody got ITV Player yet? If so how? If you Google it everywhere implies is should be available for the 2011 series

Bluetooth headphones

Will bluetooth headphones work on a 51inch D8000?

FIRMWARE 1024 arrived on the Samsung site today, so maybe that will do the trick. Something to try for the weekend!

Updated to FW 1024. No ITV Player showing in Apps and no other noticeable difference (yet). At least it didn't wipe my picture settings like 1023!

Just a quick update.

I have had my 51D8000 for a couple of weeks now and racked up about 150hrs. I downgraded to FW1015 soon after I got the set and it was obviously brighter than the 1021 that it came shipped with but after lots of tinkering I realised that it was just too bright, the contrast was like lcd on certain scenes and just didn't look natural. I was also getting brightness Pops on 1015.

Today I installed the latest firmware 1024 and I'm quite impressed. Yes it is not as bright but is perfectly acceptable and have had zero pops so I'm happy. I'll test it for a few days and see how it goes but so far for me 1024 is a good update

Cheers, Steve

I plugged my hard drive into the tv but couldnt see any files. Is this because the files are in seperate folders?

Make sure the folder created when you ran the exe is in the root of the drive.

Sorry, Ithought you were talking to the firmware update.

For photos you need to ensure you browse via the Photo option from the smart hub and then it will show the compatbile files for the viewer

Since getting my tv I haven't used the smart features very often and so have only recently noticed that I am having to enter my wep password every time I try to connect after the set has been switched off. Given that the wep key is fifty zillion characters long this is a bit of a pain in the arse. Has anybody else encountered this and if so does anybody have a solution?

To clarify: I am having to go through the entire Internet set up process every time and I'm using a wireless network.

Sounds like there is a problem with your set, probably it cannot save to disk (the internal sdd) for some reason. You should call Samsung and request service/replacement.

Been having a look online and it appears some other people have had this issue. Some have reported that changing the router settings has fixed it. Will give it a go and if it's not sorted I will call Samsung.

Well maybe now that we have the opp to downgrade to lower number firmware, it might be an idea to upgrade to the LATEST firmware and see what happens then.
Bad thing is they dont explain in the latest firmwares what they changed , NO changelog.
Might be worth the effort instead of going out to buy a new harddisk.

They Samsung, must feel that we have to be kept in the dark, that way the new firmware be more exciting. Or it is because they love to copycat Panna.

I think you will find that most of the d8000 f/w's are to do with its hub / browser thingy rather than anything pq related, if it was im sure there would have been an update for the other models too.

Just my opinion :-).

Hope youre right, but cant get my head around the little effort it takes, to put a changelog in, saying, "Update Smarthub software"
Besides if anything needs to be updated its the BROWSER in the SmartHub, its impossible to input characters that dont take a week of sundays to do.
All we would need would be a line of software where it would implement an external via USB keyboard, like pana does, and then we wouldnt have any problems with the browser.

Rob

I use my Android app to input text. Much quicker than using the remote
