D8000 vs E6500

I can't decide between these two 51 inchers.

I'm swaying towards the D8000 as I could do with 4 HDMIs.

Can't find any reviews on the E6500.

Any advice would be great.

The E6500 is about £100 more and only comes with 2 pairs of glasses instead of 4.

Cheers

Im sure you only get 2 pairs of 3D glasses with any samsung tv, not sure what price youve seen but the E6500 is £100 less @ John Lewis.

I'm just going by the best deals I can find online.

For instance yesterday RGB were doing 4 pairs and a bluray player for £929 (D8000).

Although today they have dropped 2 pairs and the bluray but the price is £829! Even better ;-)

Just really wanted to know if the E6500 would be a better buy?

The D8000 was last years top spec plasma and has had plenty of firmware to update PQ and other issues making it one of the best bargains to be had for any plasma right now. Price match for £850 with John Lewis easily achieved.

The E6500 is this years more mid range plasma which does claim to have something like 10% better blacks. The problem is, it has no reviews so far and not much more info via the forums on this set which means there could be some major problems requiring firmware and fixes to achieve a picture anywhere near the D8000 standard.

I went for the D8000 and expecting delivery this afternoon

Thanks for that, pretty much what I was thinking.

I'll try to get JL to pricematch.

Be interested to hear your thoughts when you have it setup

I have been trying to decide on what TV to get for the last few months but was waiting for the new models to come out. Now the GT50 has been out a little while im not so sure I want one as there still seems to be a number of problems, plus I'm not so sure the GT50 is worth spending the extra £500 odd over the D8000??

... and no idea when the new Samsungs will be out (was thinking of the E8000 but again not so sure spending the extra is worth it).

If they are the same price and SD performance is important to you, definitely go for the D8000.

If the E6500 is basically the same as the D6900, then the D8000 destroys it in SD performance and video processing, which is the main reason I bought one actually.
