That's the problem, I don't want to exchange it as I may get one with panel issues and I have none of it now. I think I'll just keep this set, I'll look for some bluetooth headphones for night time viewing as I can't hear the buzzing during the day with the volume up

Edit: The buzzing might reduce as the phosphors warm up so it will just be a bonus I guess.

That's bad news lol
I hadn't noticed any lag so far...
I thought it'd be no higher than 30ms

I haven't noticed any lag either on the ps3, I think the figures kinda put people off as everyone perceives lag in a different way. For me it's smooth enough but for others it might be terrible.

Agreed but at least we can now get a more definitive idea of things as the LagTester is accurate to 1/10th of a millisecond.

Hi Mark
In game mode you can have pure direct mode turned on. Do you think this would help contribute to the higher lag figure? Did you have it on when you tested it? Or maybe Panasonic have never been as good as previously measured across most of their plasma range...

Love my GT50 though, just watched f1 and now football, the picture is awesome. I see no 50hz bug just great motion and detail.

Hi

I've tried it in all permutations and also with the pixel orbiter in its different settings and 45.3 is a low as it goes Pixel orbiter and Pure Direct makes no difference btw.

It's a custom built piece of kit John. I haven't time to post an explanation on how it works right now but, like all the best things, the principle is simple even if the engineering isn't so.

I'll give it a write up next week, probably within the upcoming WT50 review

Cheapest

Hi Guy's,

I've been looking for a good deal on the 50GT50, i have found it for £1299 with 2 free pairs of glasses and 5 year warranty, also for £1259 with 5 year warranty and no glasses.

Both the retailers are based in London and Birmingham, and instore only deals, this mean local stores like John Lewis and the like will not match it, so us country people get discriminated against.

Question is how can I get one at that price with online of delivered.

Thanks.

Only that room acoustics, individual panels and personal tolerances will vary. I can't hear any without sticking my head behind the 42GT50 sample here Rai but I can't see that yours is likely to go away in time.

My tv is being replaced on Tuesday due to my paint issue. So hopefully it will be buzz free!
Is the buzzing normal for a plasma??

If I have a fully white screen, yes then it buzzes like a million bees But all my plasmas have done this. (PZ85,G10,VT30)

Was you using IFC when watching or did you have it turned off out of interest?

I have IFC (and everything that I can) switched off and see no 50hz issues.

I do have one question regarding the built-in Freesat, how do I enable it so 4:3 stuff isn't automatically displayed in vile stretch-o-vision? I figured that selecting 'auto' when you press aspect would sort this out, but it doesn't.
