I have a G20 that I bought in Dec 2010 from Richer Sounds, it has done about a 1000hrs service now without any problems whatsoever. Picture quality is excellent when viewing HD or Blu-Ray content, I even use it for my PS3, again has excellent picture quality. I haven't experienced any IR or screen burn.

However, buying any TV secondhand is a risky affair, you just don't know what you're getting.

You'd probably be best to save a few quid up and buy a new one.

get an ST50 is my advise SO many issues with 2010 sets just read the forums. Id also not buy one second hand from ebay god knows what condition its in, not worth the hass IMO.

I bought my G20 in December '10, it has run faultlessly up until this week when it has started to 'click' when warming up.
When turning on the screen there is an audible click every minute or so, sometimes more frequent, after around half an hour this disappears . When facing the screen, the sound is coming from the left hand side, it can be heard over audio on tv, not just when audio is muted. Has anyone experienced this, or know of what the fault may be ?
I bought from John Lewis with their five year warranty, but am not sure on whether to have them take it away yet or not ?

Hi,
I get the click when I put in it standby and then about 10 mins later but not with it on.
Try phoning Panasonic I have always found them very helpful.

Same as above, it is the EPG updating when in standby mode. This doesn't happen when viewing though.

I hadn't noticed it until recently and now it's bugging the hell out of me

Thanks for the recommendation of calling Panasonic, I shall give that a try tomorrow.
Cheers Paul.

Can anyone explain to me what I am seeing here?

It happens when light blue and green colours come up, I will upload two pictures, one from PS3 (which has a light blue background) and one from my xbox (which shows up on the green bits)

It also shows up on blu-rays and sometimes if I look very carefully on Sky HD. I have tried plugging these devices straight into the TV to rule out my amp and it still does it.

One thing I have noticed is, when the setting is on GAME or any other setting with "Intelligent Frame Creation" on, the problem goes away, as soon as I turn it back off (as I hate it being on because all the adverts on TV look really quick and silly), the problem comes back...

Anyway, here are the pictures, any help would be really appreciated, as I have been putting up with these for a few months now!

LeeDicko The video looks like pixel misfiring. Pics look like an issue I had here.YouTube - Panasonic V20 issue 1 gamma If its misfiring pixels it can be sorted, if its magenta noise/purple snakes you need a new set or refund.

Your videos show exactly the same problem as I am seeing mate, weird 'fuzzy' bits on the menus and ps3 that go when IFC is turned on. Did you get yours sorted or is it going to have to be a ring Panasonic and hope for the best jobby?

If its the same issue theres NO fix for it. Bumtiouse now hes back is the best guy for advise as he advised me with my set. I got a full refund after a repair attempt on my V20. I used the money to buy a 46" GT30 but had the green nasty so got that refunded and now a happy owner of a Samsung 51"D6900..... that I got for 600 quid, amazing bargain, half the price of my 42"V20.

That's the same problem i had with my g20 and vt30.
With the g20 my retailer refunded me. With the vt30 my retailer replaced the a board which is the brains of the tv, but the problem started again. With the vt30 there was a special software update which a engineer had to install which is ment to cure the issue.
It maybe worth seeing is such software was made for the g20

Thanks for the advice guys.

I bought this TV from Marks and Spencer about 16 months agos, it came with a 5 year warranty with Panasonic, but I have stupidly misplaced the receipt which is needed to activate the warranty. Do you guys reckon my best bet is to go to Marks and Spencer or to go straight to Panasonic?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me, as to be honest, I am a bit lost at what to do now!

Just had the guy round, he seemed a bit unsure of what the problem was to be honest, took some pictures and is going to ring back to let me know.

The problem is, he asked if it could be replicated while watching TV... and to be honest, whilst I have seen it the odd time, it's hard to say it can be. I just worry that if he takes it away, he won't be able to reproduce the problem (xbox, ps3 and blu-rays)

Any ideas guys?

I must admit, I haven't really noticed it too much on SD and HD tv, maybe I have caught this before it starts to get really bad.

I have found a couple of parts in the Mamma Mia blu-ray (my partners, honest!) which shows the purple dots up really well (or bad as the case may be!) so hopefully if they have a blu-ray player they can just put those parts on.

Well just heard back from the repair people, it's damaged beyond repair... 15 months I have had the TV, utterly unbelievable!

Do you guys know where I stand now? Will Marks and Spencer have to refund me? Do they have to just give me store credit?

Cheers!

Anyone had issues with the 42G20 switching itself off and back on? I've had this problem for a while but it's really intermittent.
I've had the boards replaced.

It's under a Panasonic 5 year warranty so it hasn't cost me anything.

I was considering swapping it for a 42VT20 but i'm not sure that's such a wise move.....

Got to be honest, I bought my G20 back in Dec 2010 and it has covered over a 1000hrs now wthout any issues whatsoever. So far I must be one of the lucky one's. Excellent TV for both HD, Blu-Ray and PS3.

Best thing to do is ask mate, but ask for a refund so you have the freedom to shop elsewhere.

Well i phoned Panasonic and they tell me that this fault is 'under investigation'. It seems to be down to the freeasat tuner.
Once there has been an update to the problem they will email me to get it into my repair agent.

Looks like i bought a Friday afternoon set, had the panel replaced, the psu replaced A and Sc board replaced now this.

Luck of the draw i suppose

Yeah they've told me that when I get the TV back from the repair shop, I've got to ring them so they can arrange to pick it up and then I'll get a full refund.

I have already decided that my next one will be a GT30.. I feel a bit stupid because I have seen so many people complaining about problems with the GT30, but I just totally adored the pictures from my panasonic up until this problem.

Last chance for them though, if the GT30 gets any green blobs or any problems, I will ditch panasonic all together..

Ahhhh only just remember you swapped it with the GT30 which I am planning (actually already ordered).

I will be keeping a close eye out for any problems with it, is the green blobs a problem on a lot of the GT30's mate?

Cheers Paul.
Well the clicking got the better of me in the end, though it only persisted for half an hour after the set had been switched on. I called John Lewis and they sent out Archers of Dartford to investigate, of course when the two guys arrived my set stopped bloody clicking ! They took it away anyway .
I did mention the EPLD but the guys just shrugged their shoulders and said they had never heard of it.
After four days of being 'on test' they can't fnd any fault with it, no clicking at all, but have suggested changing the 'A' board as it is in the area of the ghost clicking . The part has to be ordered from Germany, which will mean my set should be back with me by the middle of next week. In the meantime they have loaned me a Humax LCD which has to be switched on and off twice before a picture appears

BUZZ....................My Panasonic G20 46" purchased from Richersounds in april 2011 with the 5 year guarantee has been sent to the repair company (Northwest Appliance Repairs) three times with the buzz problem, the first time they replaced the transformer, the second time the power supply board and the third time they said they could not do anything more with it!
The repair company have said it is 'working to manufacturers specification' i do not agree with this because it buzzes like an old fridge on white screens and is basically unwatchable unless the volume is turned up really high and the brightness turned right down, i allways use thx mode aswell. This tv is in the bedroom and my use for it is evening/night veiwing and special movie watching, but because of the buzzing it hardly ever gets used because it annoys me so much

So after my very exciting story (not) where do i go from here, ask for a different repair company to look at it, Citizens advice, Sale of Goods Act, not fit for my purpose, Small claims court etc?
Any info would be gratefully appreciated
Cheers
Darren

Sorry just seen this, yes green blobs after a few months, set was great otherwise, tad more noise but less DFC on SD and itll have better blacks than the G20, allso 3D

Quick question for you G20 owners - I currently use a 4gb USB flash drive to watch films from plugged stright into the USB port on the TV. I want a bigger one - does the G20 support 32gb flash drives? (I know some systems don't support larger memory).

Thanks!

Because nine times out of ten I get 'server not found'. It occasionally works but normally doesn't. I've had 2 different routers since having the TV so don't know why it's so unreliable. So I've found an SD card or USB drive the best option as it's instant and reliable (and my 5 year old can navigate to his films )
