I've been wondering that too. Amazon have a good returns policy though so it might be worth trying them out for someone who already has the Panasonic ones to compare them to.

nice one Orso

Seems they have moved the on/off switch to top of the nose bridge and those look like they have bigger lenses to the second gen versions I have now (well less narrow anyway)

Be good to see how these eventually stack up against the XpanD Universal or Youniversals.

(and apologies to RickyJ as I had not spotted the fact that they already do the XpanD 103's in the UK when I was asking about them earlier. Too much googling and not enough forum reading!)

About 1/3.

there seems to be less tint on the youniversal xpand glasses, so would be easier to calibrate maybe. that's if the picture is accurate?

Having looked at those pics of the 3rd gen glasses, i still think they won`t give you enough lens coverage for those who watch it straight on. The nose bridge still looks to low, so they will ride high on your line of sight as a consequence.

Still gonna try a pair on when they are released just to confirm my thoughts, as I have no glasses at the moment having sold them

Still think the youniversals by xpand are gonna be the better option for those who look at there tv`s head on instead of wall mounted.

Has anyone noticed a difference in picture quality between brands of glasses? I have 2 pairs of Panasonic and two other pairs of generic ones (different brands) I found on Amazon.com and each seem slightly different, but I can't say that one is "better" than another.

The one complaint I have about all of them is that they're too short and sit too high on my nose...although you can remove the nose piece from the generic ones, which allow them to sit higher on your face and make it a bit better. No matter what, I feel like I always have to look down to see my TV correctly.

I was hoping to find ones with bigger lenses, that were as high quality as possible. The youniversal that were posted in this forum claim to have the fastest shutter speed and certainly look cool (my girlfriend will definitely like the red ones):

Do we have anyone out there that are happy with the 2nd generation glasses? Is it really that much of an issue or are we being anal and striving for perfection

I am happy with the 2nd gen matey, but as with all things if the next lot are even better then its worth an upgrade

For me making sure the room is dark helps enormously in 3D, but the 2nd gen pannys are comfortable and work a treat

Still looking forward to trying out the youniversals or 3rd gen though

The 3rd gens are being unveiled in Sept at Berlin show apparently so we should have them by the end of september I guess.

WOW,2 minutes charge for 3 hours viewing, pretty sweet if you're running on empty and about to watch something or they run out mid film
