Although your contract is always with the retailer, I personally would only call them within the first 21 days if you wanted a swap or a refund. AFTER that I would call the manufacturer for support.

(thats the correct number btw)

@ InsaneOne

I've just input your settings that are on Page 32, WOW. Picture is excellent, colours look spot on and the picture is nice and bright.

I've been settled on LGW settings for ages but when I switch between the 2 the whole picture looks like it has a red tint to it!! Reminds me of when I first went from THX to custom settings

Definately be using yours from now on

One question though, Black Level is set to 'Auto', and it won't let me change it to low. Is this a concern?

Going to enjoy some Pacific on blu-ray now my picture is poppin'

I think Auto is the only option when using the inbuilt tuner...I dont I use a Humax Freesat box.

You can find them on Page 32 of this thread, I don't know what thread you are referring too...

I'm sure Insnity won't mind you pinching the info, if it's not there already

I'm always right...unless I'm wrong lol

So hows she treating ya? The tv that is.

Ive been toying with my mates VT30...its stunning, saw no IR, felt faster to react than the PK so I assume the VT30 has low lag.
BUT the brightness flucs are a killer (though the EU have got a fix) if they get the flucs sorted I may retire the PK590 to the bedroom

Like any marriage its a love/hate relationship

You know what, it does my needs very well. I've been putting off watching blu-rays as I was forever switching between different settings but I reckon with your latest ones I might start getting through my back catalogue

I've had Wimbledon on BBC One HD this afternoon and its amazing how sharp and more detailed the picture looks compared to the settings I've been using!! Not to mention the colours

The only issue is with the IR really, oh and the dodgy touch button on the front panel

Hey Peeps,
I must admit i had found excellent settings on my PK and PX Plasmas before they went for all sources especially Blu's,
I did suffer a tad with Shadow detail tho which the 550T is rather good with .

@ John,
Stay put with the PK fella, at least until there is a Passive 3D Plasma

Good stuff, long may it continue!!

I've decided I will be keeping the PK590 for another 12 months and see what next year brings

Until then the PK is still my main tv. And its still doing the job well.

So then Custard you going to check your calibration to see if it has drifted slightly? Shame there still isnt a HCFR update. Do you have any idea when there will be one?

Muffin my old mucker hows your set? Still working?

Mines still going strong.

One last question as im due to go and buy my tv in the next few days, my current Surround Souns system is an older LG model, with no optical on it, and what ive been doing up until now is just running phono leads from the surroundsound into the headphone socket of my current tv, ive noticed this LG has no headphone and only optical out, any ideas?
