Are you using your remote now ?.

If yes once you have adjusted voltage values on the voltage page press enter to confirm and that also takes you back to back to PANEL -1 ADJ... Then switch to stand by and back on again. You dont need to unplug unless you reset like you have already

What number is your VOL SUS at ?...

I am assuming that it is 128.

Try raising that to begin with to say 140...

Does that help with any of the old stuck pixels that were there before you did the reset earlier ?

the VOL SUS were 128 as standard now it's around 160. and yes when i did raise the VOL SUS the old pink pixel did disappear. i can see the old "mark" if i lower it. and if i lower to 128 i'll get massive purple pixels.

I wouldn't raise it any more than 160. Take down ABL 4 or five clicks if your SUS is that high.

You will find it in PAN -2 ADJ

Hi,

I find that the sharpness/high frequencies is just a bit too "harsh/hard" "to much".

i kinda want to soften the picture a bit. Which voltage should i tweak with?

Thanks in advance

What have you been adjusting ?

Never ever found that when i reset or made any adjustments.

Checked my sharpness pattern constantly - do you have noisy edges ?

What drive mode you using out of interest ?

What enhancer mode you using also ?...
1, 2, 3 (hard, normal, soft)

Hi,
I've just changed the : vol sus to 160 and VOL RST P to 060 and ABL 140.

i use enhancer mode 2 which i always has been using. i also use drive mode 2.

i have not check sharpness pattern, but i'm pretty sure that there is noisy edges

it's like there was a enhancer mode called 0 that is SUPER HARD.

so which voltage should i change to soften and reduce the noise edges? Maybe vol sus is to high, making the high frequencies to hard/sharped, making it noise too.

Why is your ABL 140 ?.

None of my default ABL numbers were that high on any drive mode - the highest default was 128 on drive mode 2.

Like i said i never experienced any sharpening OR softening on my panel so i can't help you there. I think anyone raising SUS that high(160) is risking it tbh. Is that the lowest setting you could go to "unstick" your older lazy pixels - the ones before you reset ?

yes, 160 makes it go away if i lower the pink pixels comes back. maybe i can adjust another voltage for getting rid of the pink pixels and lower the Vol sus?.

I'll will try lowering ABL now as well. since u said i should lowering 5 clicks from what it was before since i have 160 in Vol Sus i will put ABL on 123.

you mean that using 160 (Vol sus) is the cost that make the edges noise, or that will eventually brake my panel.. soon.

the abl was that when i reset the tv.

Try and get hold of a service manual.

It describes sus and abl and it's effects and why it is important.

You will need to try and experiment with your pink noise - start with YNOFSA D up the way first. And see how high you can take that without bringing back the tint. Remember that voltage affects FS1 3 & 4.

There is no exact numbers for any panel but try not to touch the Xpofs or the OFFSET. And try to lower your SUS if and when you can. It takes time and patience and various combinations

No it wont break your panel but it wont do it any good either. I read some recommended settings for that voltage months ago and some folks were apparently told to go up to the high 190’s lol. I never found that to be suitable - certainly not on mine

Taking the ABL down a few clicks you won't notice a difference - the higher the brighter - same with SUS. But it is not advisable - especially as these components are not shiny and new anymore. All you would do is wear out the components and risk the glass.

When you have been adjusting you will notice the back plate at the top right as you are facing the screen starting to get very hot. Same with the glass. Run patterns quickly for 5 mins then switch the telly off to let it cool down. Also i was a bit more gentle with the old bird when i was using it in-between adjustments - i turned the contrast down to about 22 but thats just me but it wont do any harm. I only use movie and pure for tv and gaming. I keep ISF for film only

Hi,

When I started this thread, it was in the hope that if there was a fault with my panel, pioneer would fix it. That's obviously not going to happen from what bumtious (thank you for your input), has told us. I've watched this thread and the american one over this time, and although I can understand the frustration everyone feels, I can't agree with the route that some people are taking to try and resolve the issue. The red tint on my panel is no worse than when I first reported it, and I estimate that I have well over 12,000 hours on it. Yes it is annoying to know that it is there, but with ambient lighting on, I'm still hard pressed to distinguish the screen from the bezel!! I have to admit that when people started playing around with their panels settings, and reporting a fix for the problem, I was tempted to try, but I'm glad I waited. Pink sparkles.. white sparkles.. purple pixels.. hot screen.. image retention. I'm sorry folks but if I had come on this forum and reported those issues I would have been told I needed a new panel, but people are choosing this over a red glow that we only notice because we are looking for it, and not actually watching what is still in most experts opinions one of the best screens produced. Yes it is your screen to do with what you will, but I can't help feeling that what you are doing will end up in more upset than the red glow ever caused. This is my opinion and is in no way meant to be derisory to those of you trying to resolve the issue.

Yes you can get ISF for free. I got into the 9G ISF modes by downloading info/data from the Pioneer website about the 8G ISF command set. Once I got this it was easy to predict how to get into my 9G TV.

However, I'm not going to say how I got this data from their site in case it upsets someone at Pioneer.

I did release a free version of my software a couple of years or so ago but it was too much hassle to support it.

+1 on that !

I have been watching this thread from the start but, despite being initially tempted, have not tinkered as my 5090 is still well within the 5 year warranty period.

No disrespect, but this thread now seems to be a case of the blind leading the blind !

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There is some people who have resolved the issue more than others - and have at least tried to help themselves.

But if people think that it is acceptable to put up with a flaw that is painfully the complete opposite of why they bought the screen in the first place and that cost a lot of money "Kuro"...

Well then so be it. Lol.

For anyone "brave enough"...

If you want an idea of what voltage does what. It would be a good idea to take as many voltages as you can to 0.

Then one at a time see what does what.

This is the best i could do with my oled phone in a blacked room. Reset, adjustment, pure mode gamma 3, brightness 0

I wish i had kept some old pics for comparison purposes with the reddish and greyish tint. In the pic above i really have to focus hard in a blackout room sometimes to tell if it's even still on... Even with hardly any ambient light and contrast kept to a bare minimum its easy to realize again the biggest reason i bought this 9G in the first place.

My 5090H has "similar" blacks after reset and voltage tuning.

stucarblne, What Voltage are u using?

I've got :

Panel-1 ADJ

VOL SUS 160
VOL OFFSET 113
VOL RST P 62
VOL XPOFS1 085
VOL XPOFS2 083

VOL YKNOFS1 D 138
VOL YKNOFS3 D 128
VOL YKNOFS4 D 138
VOL YKNOFSA D 128

SUS FREQ MODE 1
the rest is 128

Panel-2 ADJ

ABL 112
R-high 513
G-high 510
B-high 500
R-low 500
G-low 500
B-low 500
--------------------------------------------------------

If i lower the VOL RST P or the VOL YKNOFSA D i got problems with blacks. such as pixel lag, that left traces of "marks" in the blacks. Some method so i can lower VOL RST P and change another voltage, and not get the pixel lag? or lower something else that will bettered the blacks, without get pixel lag?

Also when i lowered the ABL, there where less noise/sharpness. which make the picture look softer

Cheers
