I would say report it as faullty to where you purchased it from and they shoul arrange with LG to get it looked at.

LG Plasma

In answer to a previous question on how long it takes to get a unit fixed, mine has been away 36 days now.

Stock Take

Last time I spoke to the repairer , LG were clossed for stock take, and he had ten units the same waiting for repairs. Should the fact that in a small place like Tasmania, where the penetration of this model would not be as great as the UK for instance, there are 10 of them in for repairs at the same time?

no good - suprise - exactly how it was 40 odd days ago. Maybe someone can clue me in, LG said they would replace the entire inside of the unit, this being the case should my channel settings and PIP settings still be in place?

It depends on what has been swaped. If the screen then settings will stay the same. I have been told that Lg as a rule use second hand parts for repairs.
When mine was in for the last time I was told the screen was been replaced a again at a cost of £1200. (set cost £1300 !) then there were no screens available and they had a software fix.
After all I had the Tv back untouched just covered in dust.
It was the retailer that let me swap th LG for a panasonic. they took the LG off me for the £1300 I paid.
I did have to keep on though to get them to do a swap.

Dear Friends

I need to replace the remote control of my PX 11. Can you advice me about one of this pieces ? Does I have to buy an original one ? Can I use a One for all or a Kamaleon ? Where can I buy it online, as I´m in Portugal.

Thanks

Green sparklies is a voltage discrepancy between either the y-sus and psu pcbs.

the voltages coming from psu need checked (should be labelled at psu) if ok voltages need checked at y-sus pcb if these r ok your y-sus pcb needs replaced if voltages r not ok there are variable potentiometers on these pcbs that can adjust the voltages.

anyone needing LG tv firmware just list your full model number and i will try to post it.

re: LG RZ-42PX11 Plasma

Well... After 4 years of starting this thread I'm back!

I've been enjoying my RZ-42PX11 without problems till yesterday. Suddently I noticed a vertical line on the screen. It seems to affect a full vertical line of pixels.

On dark and normal scenes is almost unnoticeable. But on solid color images it's very easy to see. On a full red screen it looks like a black line and on full blue screen it looks as a red line.

It's very annoying and I'm not sure if this a hardware failure.

Had somebody a similar problem like this?

Yes, I have exactly the same problem (after 4years)

I complained to LG & the shop I bought it from citing the sale of goods act but they would not help.

It currently sits unused in my office

Yesterday I was talking with the boss of the shop where I bought it. I know him and he said that LG service doesn't care too much about this problems. They always say it's the main board and charge 600 € to replace it.

As my TV has very minor failure (only fails 1 vertical low of pixels in some colors) I will stay with it for some time untill I replace it for a new Full HD TV. Prices has gone terribly low since I bought the LG PX11 and now I can get a top of the line Full HD with HDMI, DVT and lots of features for half the price.

Maybe when I have some time I will open it and check for some bad contact on the data ribbons. I don't think it has a bad board.

What is sad is that this expensive devices seems not easy to repair or tech services doesn't care too much about this. With old CRT TV's the tech guy came to your home changed some bad transistors and it was as new again for a few €.

Now you spend 3000 € on a TV and when it has a problem only 4 years after buying it you have to trash it!!!
