Panny g15 or pioneer 5090 or 500a?????

which one, ive been looking for weeks and i cannot make a decision.
Can afford the pioneer but a bit (no a hell of a lot actually) reluctant to spend that amount seen as ill need a blu ray home cinema set up too.
Ive seen this too (scroll down) Panasonic TX-P42V10 / TX-P50V10 / TX-P42V10B Review
The sammy gives better resolved picture but dont want a lcd (with led backlights).
Do the pioneers have a better picture that will show up fine lines in clothing like that sammy does, cant find any sites testing or showing what im after.
My head hurts now, what to do

Re: Panny g15 or pioneer 5090 or 500a?????

I was looking at the Panny G/V10 range and am so glad I got the Pioneer 5090. The Pannys are good but the Pio's IMO are much better.

If you cannot justify the 500A why not settle for the 5090 - its a great TV

Pioneer is still the best available. Buy then while you can.

Re: Panny g15 or pioneer 5090 or 500a?????

Hi,

I was convinced that there would not be that much difference in PQ between the new Panny's and the G9 Pioneer's based on the assumption that not only had Panasonic had a couple of years to drastically close the gap but that they were also in joint collaboration with Pioneer so some tech sharing would have most likely taken place.

Truth is, the G9 Pioneer sets are still considerably better than the new Pannys imho, it is surprising by how much. The blacks are still miles ahead as is SD performance - if you can, go for the Pioneer, I do not think there will be another Plasma to touch it for quite some time.
