Will be greyed out when the TV is receiving a progressive signal it's for conversion of interlaced signal to progressive.
From what i can remember it's >
1.Motion.
2.Standard
3.Still.

Re: Pioneer 9G Owners Thread part deux
I have just got a pioneer lx5090 and have got the DVE DVD, but have read on hdtvtest.com about screen burn prevention Plasma Screen Burn Prevention I am willing to do the power on/off cycle, but not to sure on how to do this and if this really helps the TV, won't the white make the black/colour look washed/grey? What i can understand is I play the dvd and find the white screen covering the whole screen, turn down the picture settings (Contrast ect) to below half and start the cycle, 2 hours on 1 off and build this up till around 100 hours, Is this correct? and does this help the TV. I don't won't to make the picture worst as i have just spent alot on the the best TV out there, could any help plz Cheers Rob.
Sorry if this has been talked over before, i have read through the forums.

Re: Pioneer 9G Owners Thread part deux
Just got my LX5090 today, got a few minutes earlier to play around with it, but am just sitting down now to take a better look.
I know there are settings listed on the start of this thread for movie mode but has anyone their TV connected to a PC? And if so what settings do you use?
I am still learning the menu's and the remote control, so I will be sure to have more questions later!!

Next up was the Sony 350, With this we all found that the picture just seemed really soft, it just seemed to lack detail and a certain sharpness to the image that you'd expect from Blu Ray

Thats my Christmas ruined then

That's not what everyone else says and thinks on the Blu-ray player forum mate so i wouldn't worry about it.
Great player and no doubt you'll be very happy with.

Re: Pioneer 9G Owners Thread part deux
Still really struggling with this one. Makes no sense whatsoever.
My HTPC has an DVI-HDMI converter plugged in the back. I have a standard HDMI cable running from the TV (PDP LX 5090 of course! ). If I plug this into the HTPC I get a wonderful 1080p perfect picture. If I plug this into my AV Receiver (which my Xbox is plugged into) I get a perfect 1080i (or 720p) picture. However, if I then connect an HDMI lead from the HTPC into the receiver and route the signal via that, the ONLY resolutions I can select on the HTPC is 720x480 or 1440x480; and none of the HD resolutions – even though the same DVI->HDMI is plugged in as when it is connected directly to the TV!
Can anyone help with this problem?

Perhaps if you have had an instore demo elsewhere you could take advantage of the Pioneer 5yr warranty. I don't know if this works but may be worth a try
They also have the 6090 and the 5090UT but TLC's prices are better.
I'm still waiting for the 60" to come down in price.
PS also posted this on AV Hardware bargains page http://www.avforums.com/forums/av-ha...iscount-codes/
Thanks to DNA14 who found an additional discount code that is working.
Enter it in the voucher part ET1697
Takes another 2% off from the price.

Update: see extra 2% discount code above. Reduces price by another £34.00. Now less than £1696.00 delivered

Re: Pioneer 9G Owners Thread part deux
Just thought I'd let you all know, I am now a bona fide, fully fledged, member of the 9 series gang.
What a fantastic TV. Better than I expected on SD, no buzzing (that I can hear).
Just redecorated my room so only watching Freeview at the moment, will set up the PS3 soon.
Still looking to upgrade my old Sony AV receiver etc, but will probably stick with my Mordaunt Short speakers for now.
Just sent off the 5yr warranty, now to sit back and enjoy.
Bob

Re: Pioneer 9G Owners Thread part deux
Got my PDP-LX5090 delivered today. However, paid for it to be installed as well but they messed that up as the guy just dropped it off and that was all.
Then they said they would send someone around and 2 hours later he shows up and say what am I suppose to plug in and I say it needs to be install and he says he can't do that Now from around 2:30pm till now 6pm I have been looking at a nice plasma in a box.
So I now have to see if someone else is coming which the last guy said there was, but the TLC office is now closed so I can't follow it up. So looks like my evening going to be ruin now as well. And I was so excited this morning.

Re: Pioneer 9G Owners Thread part deux
Cant you install it yourself then?
Its not hard, I done mine myself and that is hanging it onto the wall and hooking up my PS3, YSP 1100(4days old), Wii and Virgin box.
You can always claim your money back then.
