So I've bought a Samsung PS50A457

Well, thanks to everyone on here for giving me months and months of reviews, opinions, problem solving techniques and a headache over my next TV. The OH is thoroughly bored of TV's, showrooms and the sheer mention of a TV manufacturer means I am in the dog house

HOWEVER!

I was given a budget of £500 ish, and therefore went hunting for a screen. My new living room is actually around 18ft long, therefore a good viewing distance to watch TV. All we will watch is SD Sky+, upscaled DVD's and play the Xbox - no actual HD (aside from Xbox)

So I managed to get an open boxed Samsung PS50A457 from Dabs.com.

So have I got a bargain? I really wanted the LG 50PG6000 as I was impressed after watching Sunday morning TV on it, but bit TOO much over my budget, but I really REALLY wanted a 50". I

Have I made an error and this tv is shockingly sh*t? I can still cancel it!
I know you can't make a decision based on reviews, but experience is always a good thing And every single place I go there is only 5 and 6 series Samsung machines along with a 4 series in HD!

Re: So I've bought a Samsung PS50A457

Im suprised its that bad.... the 50pg6000 can be had for £700 from empire direct which isnt much more is it ?

Samsung tvs have *so* many calibration options have a good mess with the settings .... i found the tv to be quite reasonable just looked a little toned down in the colour department but overall it was pretty decent

Re: So I've bought a Samsung PS50A457

It's £782, but as it's out of stock (I checked on Sunday) you can't use the discount EM5159 - are there any others floating about??

Re: So I've bought a Samsung PS50A457

I did go to one of ED's showrooms on Sunday and they had none in stock, even the website has 3 on back order, so I guess that's why you can't use the code. Although I have seen the 50PG3000 on some sites for £630, which I think I can get away with, although the glass panel does make it look v nice

Add to the amount of money we have spent moving house, it's a small fortune, and as the TV is the last thing to buy, it's got the tightest budget!!

Re: So I've bought a Samsung PS50A457

I just cancelled and bought the 50PG6000...I've seen it in action, liked it, it looks stunning and it was niggling me that I hadn't bought it...coupled with living a stone's throw from LG's head office and knowing 3 people that work for them...well, it's got to be done
