Smallest best 1080p Plasma with 1:1 pixel mapping for my new HTPC

I have a Pioneer 4280xd which im considering selling as im building a new htpc. I read the pioneer isnt the best in this respect. I plan on using media centre or portal with a new htpc im building and feeding it with freesat and building a library of hd videos mkc files etc. Also I live in a 2 up 2 down, so my living room is relatively small so I may even consider down sizing - I found the pioneer to be fairly dominant and perhaps even overpowering in the room. Anyway what are your thoughts? Im thinking of possibly heading down the Panasonic route.

I don't think that would be any problem on the 4280

Pansonic PF11 will allow you to turn off all scaling making pixel mapping nice and easy.
Kuro black levels, so Panasonic say, and they look nice and neat too.

42" is the smallest 1080p plasma and they are all made by Panasonic. They all do 1:1 mapping. But why not keep the Pioneer. I'm sure lots of PC users have it.

Re: Smallest best 1080p Plasma with 1:1 pixel mapping for my new HTPC

The 4280 isn't 1080p, it is 1024x768 using rectangular pixels and so you get a stretchy desktop made up of only about a third of the number of pixels the 42PF11 uses. It also only accepts the signal via VGA at 60Hz, where the Panasonic being 1080p will accept 1080p24, 50 and 60 all with 1:1. The 42PF11 is the best 42" display on the market at the moment IMO.

Nothing to add from the TV side, but just wanted to suggest Boxee as a suitable front end for your HTPC. It runs on a variety of platforms, I personally use it on my AppleTV and am very impressed.
