re: Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1
I got the PG6000! I feel like I have just been baptised or something and I havent even got the thing yet. Including delivery to Dublin from Belfast, and a panny hdmi cable Richer Sounds did it for £440 all in. Fingers crossed all goes well with it. Thanks again for all your help everyone.

Use these settings (modify to your preference) - Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1 - people who use those don't seem to get IR, people who put the settings too low do, just be gentle in the first 100-200 hours (particularly the first 100) to get it going, and put it on all day for the first week or so, even if you're not watching it.
I'm also getting mine on Saturday from Tesco, assuming the price doesn't go back up, it's £478 at Bennetts now!

Are you saying you don't even own the set yet? You presented yourself as an authority on it in other posts & threads, are you telling us you were just regurgitating what other people have been saying about it?

re: Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1
Well after reading 45 pages of reports, reviews etc. I have decided to jump in and get one of these. Seems just about perfect for what I want. Tescos Direct is the cheapest @ £379, I had a voucher from a market research (bless 'em) and finally paid £345 to be delivered day after 2morrow. Still cant believe I'm getting a plasma for less than 350 quid. Maaaaad. Thanks for all you help guys, I'll let you know what it's like as soon as it's fired up.

No, I know someone who has it and have been in my local (if it can be called that) Richer Sounds a lot playing around with it, that plus the fact that I have read EVERYTHING you could possibly read about this TV. I know the solutions to the most common problems (and I've always said "as I've read") I know the different opinions that people hold and how many people hold these opinions.
It's all very well you saying that I can't give technical advice on a set because I don't own it (even though I've read so much and used a few different ones at various differernt stages in its lifetime) but the fact is that people who have them have a larger margin for error because it's based on their experience alone. All sets act slightly differently to each other and some can be faulty (even if only subtly) in different ways, I have read through all the problems and know (roughly) how many people have these problems and how much of a problem people think they are.
Get over yourself Lunar Wolf (or Lone Wolf (personal joke, it's not funny)) and stop trying to pick fights

Intresting to learn you don't actually own or have any real life experience with it beyond what you have heard.

What I've heard and what experiences I've had with it in real life experiences. And I have always pointed out the negatives and recommended alternatives with pros/cons in other areas most of the time, but I've seen enough to see that this set has the best SD quality around for under £500 (in my opinion) and the IR isn't as bad as some people make it out to be as long as you know what to do when you first get it

re: Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1
Well I've had this set for a couple of weeks now, and me and the Mrs haven't had it off since we got it!
I started off with bobsalvador's settings and tweaked them a little to my own preference - I think they're in this thread somewhere. Basically brightness and contrast fairly high. I've just had it on regular TV, via Sky.
I've scrutinised this set very closely and I have to say I'm not sure what IR is as I've never witnessed it! Once I did notice on one channel when they had the sign-language lady on, the picture was moved to the left an up to make room for the sign language lady and there was a very lurid green background behind her, and it made her hair glower green around the edges... kind of realistic as if the green border was a bright green light... That's the only thing I've noticed.
I got it from Richer Sounds for £400 plus £40 5 year guarantee - I am more than happy with it. I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with it. Looks great switched off too!

re: Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1
Hi All. Is there consensus amongst the knowledgeable on this thread (no, I'm not trying to start a fight!!) about what are the best settings for run in, how long run in should be for, and what the settings are for go-live? There is so much on this thread its hard to figure what might be best.
I know the latter may be down to personal taste, but for SD sports watching (and Soaps), maybe there are sone do's and donts. I will continue to trawl through these pages but I dont want to end up doing something I should not. Also, when I get the telly I'll be reading the manual from cover to cover so maybe that gives everything I need. Thanks.

re: Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1
TBH I didn't pay any attention to any 'run in' settings - I just set to bobsalvador's settings and later tweaked them. No plans to change after any 'run in' period.
The manual didn't mention anything about a run in so I didn't worry about it!

From day 1, I've had mine set to the following:
Cinema (User)
Contrast: 80
Brightness: 50
Sharpness: 50
Colour: 50
Temp: Warm
Fresh Colour/Contrast : Off
NR: Low
Gamma: Med
BL: Low
I didn't lower the settings for the first 100 hours or whatever. I've been gaming on it with my 360 and nothing, no IR problems at all.
I don't plan on changing my settings either as everything I watch with these settings looks natural in tone and black levels look nice and deep.
Also, I have racked up 300 hours on this set now and the black levels do improve, a lot. So don't be disheartened if it looks washed out when you first switch it on. I'm watching SD cable on my V+ via HDMI upscaled to 720p and honestly, it looks fantastic. BBC HD looks FANTASTIC. If only Virgin would introduce more HD now...

re: Lg 32pg6000 - Part 1
From what I've read (which is a lot) people who run in the set too much (turn the settings below 50) experience the worst IR, people who have used bobsalvadors settings seem to be pretty IR free, can't comment on Akki007's but he seems happy!

This link is just to reasure you that even the pros recommend a pure white screen with a correct contrast setting (70-90) rather than something lower (40-60).
Plasma Screen Burn Prevention
You just have to be extra careful during the first 50 hours or so to have nothing static on screen for more than 15-30 mins.
