Now alot of us got the PX70 and I am sure some of us have got over 200 hours now.

I am wondering what the latest picture settings you are all using...

best bet us to measure the white line with a ruler and post up the measurements :o)

Let keep this thread Tidy just with settings only.

Will Post mine once arrived back home.

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

Just to kick this one off

All adjustments from default:

Freeview and everyday viewing:

Viewing Mode: Normal
Contrast: 25 clicks left
Brightness: 5 clicks left
Colour: 5 clicks left
Sharpness: Default
Colour Balance: Normal
Colour Management: Off
P-NR: Off

DVDs and HD/Blu-Ray Movies

Viewing Mode: Cinema
Contrast: Default
Brightness: 2 clicks left
Colour: Default
Sharpness: Default
Colour Balance: Normal
Colour Management: Off
P-NR: Off

I personally find that Colour Balance when set to Warm gives a slightly yellow/sepia cast which can enhance some movies but isn't suitable for everyday viewing in my opinion

From the default which is far right

If you have previously adjusted settings press "Reset to Default" before applying settings

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

cal,d mine with spyder try these as approx settings i have expensive ref arcam dvd so get excellent results from ref patterns

cinema ,warm is correct colour temp you must have these settings for accurate colours.
if left of bar = 0 right= 100
contrast=70
brightness=48
colour=53
colour mangement=off
sharpness=personal taste

try some dark scenes to look at shadow detail you will see more info now ,i set all my sets using set up disks and they where all miles out with spyder it gives you pitures and explains what you should see before and after cal

hope this helps cheers red

Are these setting by clicks or by percentage?

I have notice quite a few settings are simular to each other on here...

Mines is the same as giggy cinema setting but i use it for every input.

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

i agree that cinema and warm gives excellent colour etc on dvd and HD but looks completely off on freeview, and softens the picture. If you switch to normal, and normal colour temp for freeview - pic is FAR sharper, adn colours much more realistic. Whites look almost yellow when you use cinema and warm on freeview wheras use normal and you get a bliding white, and on gaming as well...........

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

yes this is percent as panasonic not quite as helpful and accurate on there menu systems as other manufactures,i use a piece of a4 and mark ends of bar then mark half way
as 50 and then divide these to give 25 and 75 and then again so i have got a good selection of values .
gigsy i think the limitations of freeview are why you prefer alternative settings
and if it looks better i agree i only use dvd /skyhd both on cinema warm with excellent results.
cheers red

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

yeah def looks FAR better on normal for freeview - just watching the chelsea flower show BBC1 - looks absolutely stunning, all the colours are spectacular, from 8ft it is easily best programme have seen yet on Freeview, the detail is pretty astounding actually...................its quite hypnotising, you wouldnt catch me watching flowers on my old CRT lol

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

Hi Guys,

Is it true you have to manually adjust your settings for each input source?
it doesnt have memories for each one?
If so, how much of an inconvienience is this?

Thanks.
Carl..

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

hue,
you can set a different piture mode for a diffrent input ie sky could use
normal and dvd cinema , you can use more than one mode to more then one
input the set will remember what you have set it is limited but works ok unless
you have alot of inputs that need setting differently.
cheers red.

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

i have the 37inch version but thought i'd join the party.

viewing mode normal

contrast = 60% (higher during daytime with light coming into the room)
brightness= 50%
colour = 45% for TV/Film, sometimes whack it up to 70% for some games.
sharpness = 33% - any higher and whites jump out too much and glare.

colour balance = normal
i've tried warm but it looks too yellow for my liking, whites become pale yellow and mutes alot of the other colours especially blues.

Re: Panasonic PX70 Picture Settings 42" Only

Yes, yes lets keep it tidy, but!!! maybe it would be better to work with the same "reference". If you count well then you kniow there are 63 clicks between the left and the right side of the bar, so maybe it's better to give an update 'click'wise????

Don't shoot me, i'm only a belgian
