Transporting a plasma flat: really tricky?
I probably have to transport a new plasma flat for a ride of 10 miles on the highway. Would that be really tricky, even if we drive very carefully at 50 mph?

Re: Transporting a plasma flat: really tricky?
You have to transport it upright. If it's only 10 miles get a cab that will fit it upright could cost £10 (can see you in Holland so not sure of prices).
But for the price you paid for the TV make sure you transport it in the right way.
I would avoid doing this at 5mph yet alone 50mph.

Re: Transporting a plasma flat: really tricky?
Very very risky. I know of someone who drove from London to Manchester with a Pioneer 50 and got away with it, also know of a case where the thing was put on a trolley in an office flat on it's back, wheeled into a lift, and bang, gone. At your own risk, Mr Gilmour

Re: Transporting a plasma flat: really tricky?
I was wondering if a Panny 37PW45 (box height is 110 centimeters) would fit in a Ford Focus stationwagon. I read through the forum and decided not to transport the plasma flat: too tricky. We don't have any ''London cabs" here. We do have "London cab prices" here actually even worse: Amsterdam has the most expensive taxi price in the world.
If the plasma won't fit I'll arrange another way or let the company ship it.
But does anyone know if it would fit in a Ford Focus station?

Re: Transporting a plasma flat: really tricky?
Presumably transporting upright is ok or are there still risks involved.
I have to get my 37PX60 to a dealer to fit new 'd' board.
I still have box and polysterene it came with and it goes in my car upright (just). Will this be ok or does it still have a risk?

Upright will never be a problem as long as you don't drive off road and have the plasma steady in the box/car.
