Panasonic TX-P46G10 standby power consume to high!

Hi there!

I don't know if anyone else as tried to measure the power consume of the new Panasonic Plasma TVs, specially in standby mode.

According to Panasonic web page, the rated power consume for the 46G10 model is 0.5W. Well, i picked my "wattimeter" and surprise:

I measured 29W of power consume

and i'm not the only one that made this. I know of at least another person who done the measure and got the same results

Hmm... CNET measured the standby power consumption of the 50" V10 and got 0.132W!

Yup. And the manuals for the US versions quote a 0.2W standby power consumption... which they better in testing.

It would be surprising if the UK models with a 0.4W quoted standby power consumption regularly pulled 20W+, but hey... I haven't tested it!

(There is a note in the UK manual that if 'monitor out recording' is enabled standby consumption is much higher, but I don't know whether this is relevant to you?)
