436-XDE wall mounted - opinions needed please.
Please visit this collection of photos, they show my old Pio 434 on its swivel stand, on my glass Plasma stand.
__________________However, it developed a fault and I was partially refunded by the retailer, so I'm in the market for a 436 XDE. I picked up a template whilst visiting the Pioneer stand at the recent Scottish Hifi show. This is the size of the 506. I've pinned it to the wall where I would like to mount my 436. (photos attached) Should I be aiming for a 506 instead? Is this about the correct height? Does anyone think it would look better on the swivel stand (my wife does)? http://www.byphotos.com/album/1148046 Thanks for any replies! Nikon D40 | 18-55 | 55-200 VR flickr |

For me mate, wall mounting a plasma is the only way to go.
I think you should go for the 50" if you can stretch the budget but make sure that your viewing distance is sufficient so you dont get the noise (visible from about 4-5 feet on the 506) otherwise you wont enjoy this one like you did your 434. Otherwise get the 436 (mine is due to arrive 2 weeks tomorrow!) |

Only mount it that high if you are going to wall mount your centre speaker too, you really don't want the sound to be obviously not coming from the screen.

Hi, well, I always thought the idea of a plasma was to wall mount it, after all it's one of the benefits of having a plasma - the fact that you can actually hang it on a wall!
Having said that, it does look a bit odd with the glass table below, the table just looks like it's missing something, maybe thats because I just looked at the pictures with the table top mount first. Hmmmm, so basically, I've been no help at all! Wall mount it and move the table, thats what I think. |

I think the height is spot on for the wall mounting. Not too high like a few that I've seen.
__________________I would say either move the existing cabinet or get something thats wider and lower instead (which is what I'm probably going to do). I've seen some stunning setups with a wood finish low/wide unit underneath a wall mounted plasma.
