i have just testet 2-3 others model,and i dident notice anything new then the 10p calibration and relax mode.

have you seen you can now roll back the firmware, dont know if older versions were better, and i dont know if the version i have now was capped in brightness like the 6900 and d8000 were in the last firmware.

hmm i dotn have a new firmware,i cant update because it hasent come out with a new firmware for my model.

oh right, my firmware uis 1026, and lot of people with other models like the d6500 and d8000 have been changing the firmware back, as the latest firmware seem to cape the brighness and drop it right down, so people have been reverting back, but i dont know if the d550 was capped to.

how many feet do sitt from your tv?i sitt 14 feet and that was o good for me,now i sitt 6,5 feet away,and its much better i noticed moore detailed in the picture then i did from 14 feet away.

Sorry not seen the thing remake mate. And i sit about 9 foot away and mines a 59. And its spot on.

now i got a WOW factor on my tv,i only need too do the pot tweak so i can get a better black level,i tried some settings,and i never seen such a good picture

i have brightness at 56,and color on 48.

Samsung Plasma Panel tweaks for better blacks.

those settingare simulare to mine except the gamma is -2 and mine is +1.
its just shows how panels can very.
as for the tweaks, not even thought about it the blacks i get im more than happy with. i know the 59" and 64" produce better blacks then the 51" panelsbut shorely they cant be that bad.

my hdmi black was on normal and it should be on low,i had to set rgb standard insted of 4:2:2. in my blu ray player.my blacks got better now,but it still alittel gray black but not so much when hdmi black was on normal.

you might see theres a big difference.
movie mode - warm 2
cell - 18
contrast - 95
brightness - 45
sharpness -10
colour - 43
tint g53/r47
gamma - +2
cinema smooth - on(else the gamma is all or the place as will be the colours)
edge enhancment - on
colour space,
red = r69/g43/b20
green = r100/g70/b0
blue = r/5/g33/b100
yellow = r62/g55/b0
cyan = r100/g67/b63
magenta = r65/g81/b100
2pt wb = offset = r30/g28/b18
= gain = r18/g22/b26
10pt wb

i have tried your settings and it looks very good on hd channels but on none hd channels it dosent look that good,but thats life hehhe.havent tested blu ray yet,but will let you know how blu ray is.

well they are donr for bluray- i have used them for tv but have adjusted slightly by eye the wb and colour
