Thanks Dan - LOL - no it's a shot of our Christmas tree while moving the camera with longer exposure and then heavily PP'd

I could make out it was a genius creation that I prepared that took me ages.

Reality is its a glass of lemonade in a green glass!!! Taken with the TZ10 as well.

Cheers Tbird! I really wanted a shot with no people in it, but there were too many people walking past that day. I did manage to get one from a slightly different angle (which I converted to B&W with red isolation and posted in the monthly comp 'invalid' thread), but prefer the perspective of this one.

I'd like to take credit for it but it was all done using Photoshop.

Pah! The nice thing about art & abstract is anything goes

If you really must know Jim, photo was straightened and sharpened in LR, then I used that free tilt-shift website, then finally used a simple preset in LR. Job done. Love it or hate it, I'm sure someone somewhere would pay at least 50p to hang it on their wall

p.s. there are 2 other different pp versions on my flickr

Cheers Darren - It was a serious inquiry - despite the cheek

TBH the colouring distracted me enough that I didn't even notice the TS effect

Of the two on Flickr I like both more than this and prefer the V1

This one then? Good choice sir! Consider the 'crayoned' one a tribute to Warhol

Thanks Ami - glad you liked the Red Rose shot - I wasn't sure just how far to push the rose TBH and it was quite deep red to start with but after toning down the background it just oooked a little "flat" so pushed it a bit more

I like that shot you linked too - the "paper texture" on the background shot too really makes it work for me - though there is also a slightly "disturbing/edgy" feel to it....

This was a prototype I was working on for the monthly competition "RED", but decided to go with a red shoe shot instead. Probably the wrong decision as usual!

Thanks Gordon. I find myself walking around and seeing things that are unusual and just get the urge to snap away. No special kit used and no PP either...

For instance the first one is rain on a pane of glass in a door. It looked suitably absract when i took it but the actual shot from the camera was even more "out there". Its great fun
