Yes, nice capture

May be "just" a sparrow to some, but in our garden they're extremely rare so seeing one is almost something to get excited about for me! (Note to self: must get out more..

)

I'll echo what I said on the TP forum: very impressive to get a sand martin in flight, they're so quick. Very good stonechat shot too

Thanks Jim, yes they are very fast erratic fliers, I used a Canon ef-s 55-250mm om my Canon 60D.

Nice one Bodo - not quite as colourful (in both senses

) as your entry but I think I prefer the "off the wall"

Thanks Mark, the pipe is in the air brick on my flat and the one without the pipe that the nest is built in is next door (seen in the out of focus part of the photograph)
The bird always lands on the pipe first, has a look round to see if it is safe to enter the one with the nest.
The nest must be complete as i have not seen them go in for a few days, i have a listen each day to see if there are any chicks ai there, but no joy yest

Thanks for that, had me wondering if i was seeing things or not, its great having birds nesting in your garden, i have for the first time in three years of trying a pair of Blue tits too in a wooden nesting box, they finished making the nest last week and now the male is going back and forth feeding the female, exciting times

Me and my mate went to Potteric Carr again yesterday but there wasn't a great deal about apart from at the feeding station. Like a fool I realised a bit late in the day that I was shooting at ISO 800 for a lot of the afternoon

I wondered why my shutter speeds were so high!!
