Rocky is recovering well!

Poor old Rocky has had a bad few weeks. He went in for a minor operation to remove a small growth from his eye lid and while under the anesthetic the vet took the opportunity to give him a full examination which revealed a lump in his abodomen that was about the size of a tennis ball .

Further tests were done and three weeks ago Rocky underwent major surgery to remove the lump and his spleen. I still cannot believe what a fantastic patient he has been and how well he has recovered. He has paid no attention to the 6 inch scar and although he must have been in pain there was nothing in his behaviour to indicate anything was troubling him. We are also very pleased that the tests on the lump indicated that there was nothing malignant to worry about. The stiches came out last week and now he is able to have a run in his local park

He is still missing hair from the areas shaved for the operation, but apart from that (and the horrible scar) there is nothing to indicate what he has been through.

1) What's going on over there?

2) Coming!

3) On the scent.

4) Hi!

Shots taken with my 85mm 1.4.

That's fantastic news John - glad you're both doing well - hope you had him insured and your wallet didn't need major surgery as well

He is gorgeous and looking fighting fit again. Glad to hear he came through it all ok and there was nothing nasty in the tumour, give him a big hug from me for being so brave!

Glad to see Rocky back on his feet and doing well,

They say that the owners sometimes look like their dogs but I'm afraid not in your case John as Rocky is a handsome dog

I can spot a happy dog at 100 paces... and he looks really happy John... beautiful coat too!

Not like the dog experience I had the other day as I went for a cycle ride (my other passion).... one of the pitbull types, off its lead wagging its tail down the pavement in the country, no-one else in sight. As I went along it cut across the road to intercept and went for an attack... I screamed at the bl**dy thing and luckily my shout put it off and I got away unscathed. Sadly the dumb animals who look after the dog probably need even more training than the dog so to stop and protest at the small group of houses would have been of no use... I hate to stereo type people but if the glove fits.....

Pete.

Happy hardly covers it for Rocky, he is a great dog who loves to be the centre of attention.

Close escape - in London the other day a dog of similar breeding attacked a blind lady's guide dog
