New Zealand

Finally got around to putting some photos onto Flickr from the holiday I went on a couple of years ago to NZ, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to share one or two with you. PLenty more on FLickr

I was there doing some fieldwork for a couple of weeks before my girlfriend came out to join me for a 3 week tour around, so unfortunately I didn't have enough space in my bag for the DSLR; hence, all taken on a Fuji F30 (which suffered catastrophic failure in a pool of water halfway through the trip...). They're all clicky for bigger.

1. Hector Dolphin pod

2. Ice (taken on Fox Glacier)

3. Fox Glacier. Disappointed that it wasn't at all minty.

4. View to Franz Joseph in the evening

5. Sulphur depositing in a hydrothermal pool near Rotorua

6. The 'Artists Palette' hydrothermal pool

7. Geyser

8. Sunset in the Coromandel Peninsula

9. This beach was amazing; built of absolutely nothing other than shells

10. Typical view across the forested areas

11. My field location: Ngauruhoe at sunset

12. We drove along an awful lot of road like this. After communtng along the A30 every day it was bliss

Thanks for looking; c&c welcome

Re: New Zealand

Fantastic looking place and some great shots. Numbers 2 and 11 are my pick of the bunch. Well done on getting at least one good shot of dolphins , - in the wild they always seem to be a bit too quick for me

Fantastic set. I was going to choose a favorite but I couldn't decide on one. 6 & 8 maybe

Re: New Zealand

Thanks guys - 7's probably my personal favourite.

Another of Ngauruhoe for you, take from a dirt trackway which goes part-way up the Mangetepopo valley.

Re: New Zealand

They do like their long names. Took me a while to work out how to pronounce Ngauruhoe.
